I haven't been detecting in quite a while,... but this should really get the juices going and the money flowing :-)

I've jumped on the train a few times, even bought the same ticket twice on a few occassions :-)
But I'm fairly happy with my current line-up: X-terra 705, CTX, Excalibur, SDC.
Not big on brands because I've had F75 Ltd, F19, CZ-3D, 2x Deus, Coinmaster, AT-Pro, Go-find 60.
It just boils down to an operating system I'm use to and experience in what my different machines a

When running an open screen all targets are ACCEPTED.
You are telling your CTX, you want EVERYTHING.
As stated before, it will LOCK onto the STRONGEST signal and REPORT it loud and clear.
With every Minelab since the Sovereign GT, it will amply the non-discriminated part of the signal.
So it likes a LITTLE discrimination in order to report the more favorable part of the signal to the op

Combined audio on the CTX.
What it pulls out of iron/trash with the 6" coil is amazing.

A waterproof, fast, mid-frequency, decent balance, choice of coils, AA battery powered.
What is not to like :-)
Whatever you do, please get it wright first time around. We'll wait no-problem.
The F19, F75 Ltd2 release was riddled with weird performing units.
I'll happily trade in a few Detectors for an MX Sport if it feels comfortable on the ear and wrist.

After not finding anything much, they finally got a signal.
As in most of Europe the kids got educated not to dig anything big without adult supervision :-)
First they thought it was a fuel tank,... then later on came to the conclusion it was a 500 lb bomb.
Called in the experts and finally BOOM went a 1000 lb-er.
People actually swing like that when doing a recon of a field. You obviousl

The machine is sitting idle 99% of the time.
Used it twice,... enjoyed every minute of it,... but work commitment and other detectors have got in the way.
Mint condition, will ship worldwide with UPS to your doorstep, FREE
Comes with everything in the original box, warranty never registered.
Doesn't collapse completly as a new one which comes out of the box for the first time.

I've got the 705 and the F19 in the armoury,... just can't seem to figure out which one to part with :-)
Adding another elliptical to the mix, be it racer or that new Deus coil coming out soon,... probably confuse me more than the targets LOL

You just had to ask, didn't you LOL
Angles are a little off because I propped it up against the wall. It hangs in balance and at the swing angle when you lift it up by the bungee.
This setup prevents my tendinitis from flaring up after 4 hours of hunting.

I've fallen in love with the 10,5" DD 18,75 kHz coil and 2-tone.
Many say balance is off and I agree,...
But it finally dawned on me,... it needed an extension bracket. So I sniffled in the stainless scrap metal, found a clamp of a hedge trimmer.
Welded 5 minutes,... attached extension and hey presto. It swings like it should and balance is spot on.
The extension is located behi

After my brain stem surgery and dislocated shoulder. I hit the beach with the bandage dress still around my head.
Thought I was ready for it.
Several pain killers in advance, harness, dressed for the North pole and my trusty Excalibur.
Swung for 45 minutes, had a few coins, pain was killing me,... never in my life swung that slow.
Best coins ever!!

On board batteries aren't an issue, small connectors where dust and grit get in are!
Sealed with those tiny rubber gaskets is a real outdoor joke.
Outdoor wireless module that serves as a powercube for the detector. Only one thing to charge when you get home.
Detector lives in the truck, hook up the module as you drive to and from the hunt site.
Just thinking out loud.

Yes the plastic was quite flexible,... pinpoint was better than disc.
It would fit beach hunting in pinpoint style. Get a signal, Check in disc.
Stick a magnet in the scoop for the bottlecaps. Dig anything that doesn't register a solid iron signal.
Lots of pocket knifes get overlooked because they sound like a shallow bottlecap.

I had a 60, untill it ID-ed every bottlecap with a High-tone.
Hence it came and it went!
A non issue for a relic hunter, a non issue for a kid enjoying himself at the beach,...
Had a Deus give me the same treatment and it went as well.
You don't want to be digging plug after plug in a parc and be presented with a steel crowncap.

Coins even pre-dating Christ himself.

Some detectors just plain sound great, others are like listening to a cheap portable radio, they just make noise.
Headphones and quality earbuds really are an extension of the machine and when you like a set, detecting is far more enjoyable.
You go the extra mile, find a few more targets.
Got 2 sets of identical Gray-Ghosts, purchased a few years appart. One simply sounds much better.

I wanted something that would get me out and about and it needed to be a switch on hobby.
Then I went and found a coin.
In a moment of utter impulse, I bought an Excalibur II, all weather all terrain was my goal.
Then I went fishing for coins at the beach,... on a cold sunny winters day I found a Gold ring.
Interrested in my Excalibur and how to get the best out of it, I found detecting f

But how about just simply showing the Racer shine in it's own light.
It seems every time a new detector becomes the flavour of the month a videos surfaces showing David vs Goliath.

My sentiments exactly.
A beach machine needs a good swath, something very easily done when you mount an excal on a straight shaft behind the elbow.
Even a fully extended CTX doesn't have quite as nice a swing to it.
Then we have people showing us 5" coils on wet sand and relic hunting units piddling along. Ok they may be stable, they may find the missing link in the chain.
But

The more you buy magazines and read stuff,... the more you come to the conclusion that you need this and that.
Especially if you've had a not so productive day detecting or fishing.
We also buy ourselves some courage to get out there, a new rod, a new tector, a new digger,... it brings a little sparkle.

That's why you go recon the beach with a FBS, BBS, FBS/2 detector and when you start hitting older coins.
You hit MARK on the GPS. And go get a more powerfull detector like an SDC, ATX, TDI, GPX, etc. etc. and just start cleaning up.
The Minelab "Expert" in the video located a deeper signal and they dug it out with a single scoop!
I want beaches like that.

Now, I'm not trying to be a PITA,... but
I've had some time with a CTX on the beach.
The "Expert" wielding the CTX doesn't have headphones on,... he is able to talk to our Detector Comparitor??
No way are you even registering half the info the CTX gives without headphones.
When he tries to scan the chain,.. at the end of the swing you can see the scoop coming into
