dubbld ,
I had a great experiece with Tom at much the same time as you with additional point to be made. In the e-mail exchange with him before sending the unit he gave me some parameters to do some testing and concluded , correctly I might add , that the cz3d I had picked up was pretty close to specs to begin with and gently suggested calibration was probably not necessary. I sent it to him for

I doubt there was ever any insurance involved as they were "stolen" from the US Treasury Mint 115 years ago.
Here's the real rub--at that time the Mint was owned by the US citizens---who "owns" it today but the Federal Reserve.

Much would depend on the financial situation of the seller.
If you were in a position of already having substantial wealth and amounts of this magnitiude were not uncommon transactions , it's possible you could camouflage some of the proceeds. However , if you are among the 98% without that type of financial infrastructure , you would be putting yourself at great risk trying to bring these

According to link provided above by Pimento , they reburied the coins while waiting to contact the coin expert. Sounds like they should be showing up for sale soon and I hope the Saddle Ridge hoard sets new records for sales at auction--or wherever.
The only hint as to location that I've heard was from Brian Williams on the " NBC national news feed" , better known as the Obama Pro

That's one astonishing story and find!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My usual reaction to such stories is how foolish people are by bringing this type of news out in the open but I honestly don't know how you would approach dispensing of such a fortune without Uncle Sam getting his mitts on a substantial amount of it. Maybe you could get an uber wealthy sheik or Chinese businessman to cash you

We've had about .10" of moisture in the last 70 days.
You guy's don't even know what dry is!!!
Even in the parks that are irrigated , 3" is a major undertaking so a guy starts ignoring the 8" signals or tries to mark them down and come back later.
Your going to have plenty of wet when the snow starts melting.

Definitely the depth demon for me.
It better be a pretty big area to hold me for a year.
I'll dig all the masking material eventually and I want to keep going down.
I agree the majority is masked , at least in my area where the soil moisture content is so low and hardpan is so shallow.

Funny how you guys from Pa. never think about elevation
It's thawed pretty well everywhere below the 35th parallel but above 5000' the digging depth is only about 2". Looks like 60s by the end of the week

What's this "need" crap?
Screw----- "need"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I busted my a## for 35 years so when I want something , that supersedes "need"! Especially when it's something involving an enjoyable activity. A new shotgun , a new flyrod , a new detector...............

Tom , good chance we may be having a similar conversation later this week. After yesterdays excursion , which rapidly became evident for being a "get to know one another" dry run , the plot has definitely thickened with the details and holes that were filled in , not from digging but from fleshing out the narrative. Wednesday we begin a quick search of specific areas of a large ranch an

docbars , there are two sites, highest probability of which is 5 acres and we're heading there in the a.m. The fellow that invited me is using a GPX 5000 if the EMI and trash will allow it. Being below the 35th parallel and with a mild Winter we are prepared for some thawed/moderate/frequent/easy digging in what hopefully is river bottom agricultural clay sitting on top of nearly impenetrabl

I'm about to embark on what will be an exciting adventure on a legitimate hunt for buried kruggerands. 90 year old fellow dies and omits the vital details except that they're in his property. The son has been trying to locate but has no idea how to use a detector and is tired of digging up trash---I'm not!!!!!

I'm very green with a 3D so treat me kindly here but my understanding is that the enhance mode is more of a discrimination mode and not a "ground" mode . GB should work the same in either and be very close, as I recall ,Tom states in one of his articles that salt could be thought of as "normal" but I can't swear by that I think the manual recommends re-GBing ofter a

Gubmint creep at it's finest/worst!!!
The first laws giving these types of powers (for coastal areas)were granted in 1789 no less , not for security but to stem the flow of goods into the country without paying import duties which fueled the early government. Essentially , exclusive Legislation of the "not exceeding ten squares miles" seat of government was expanded in the late 70

Yeah , that sucks about the guns ,,,,I can't believe you guys haven't taken steps to put that in reverse . Good lesson there about giving something up to the gov. Out here in the desert West the big cats still get hunted ---unlike California where they just see a jogger as moving prey-- and they still have a fear of man. I guess if you're confronted by one of your 'panthers

Camping in the middle of no where is one thing , Australia's another!
What do you have there--about 700 species of poisonous snakes and the most venomous insects/spiders that the Creator conjured up---and they all hunt at night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You got frickin' crocs the size of semis and dingos that carry off little kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd feel better off pitchin

He needs to be brought under control regardless of his ethnicity.
Go back and set him up if you have to as the next "victim" may not fare so well.

It's a common trait with the MXT---I think D. Johnson was a constant design element also. I never even look at it when I'm coin shooting. I have a MXT armed friend that lives by it and I constantly demonstrate to him the need to dig those iffy 40% readings he passes up when I dig them after using the etrac but he is incredibly stubborn. My gain. In the magnetic ground around here I have

So much here relies on "tones".
So what's the key to headphones which deliver the best tones for this audio discrimiination? Technically of course.
I've tried several brands and models and find little difference between manufacturers when you compare similar costing sets.
What technical aspects really matter for sound quality assuming individual hearing was standardized?--

Personally , I don't think what you're attempting is possible in the range of percentages necessary to make the determination of what to dig and the number of good targets to trash out there.
Using the treshold pitch adjustment on the e-trac I've been able to train the ear well enough to consistently dig the trash that sounds good but to distinguish it further will most likely req
