I did a similar thing by taping a piece of plastic cable tie to the shaft with a pull tab laced on it which sldes up and down but your soltion is a helluva lot more refined. I got tired of leaving the "sensitivity enhancor " behind.

Is there an accurate method of testing the 11" coil other than switching out for one known to be good? I am experiencing continuos high tone falsing ( truncated high pitched peeps ) regardless of sens/disc settings which correspond to TIDs in the 90s at the rate of 3 or 4 per swing. It also appears to occur whenever the coil makes even sliight edge contact with an objject but not so much if

I don't support Hollywood or Spielberg voluntarily so I haven't seen the flick but I'll imagine they missed the part about the Emanciipation Proclamation keeping Johnny Reb at home protecting the plantation instead of fighting the Yanks.

(THE BEST WAY TO REDUCE EMI: Place F75 in all-metal mode with max Sens ('99'). Hold coil about a foot above the ground.....very still......and perfectly parallel with the ground. Select F1 through F7.........one at a time...... and listen to each channel/freq for about 4-5 seconds. Find the one freq/channel that provides the least interference. Now you can switch back over to the ID mod

I swing both with many months on an e-trac and just a few weeks on the F75 but not at the same time so I can't speculate on the interference but the 75 is a definite EMI magnet. If you're hunting coins and expect to follow the iron with your threshold think again , unless you're hunting in all metal -- no threshold on discrimination side.
