Mark....... yes. You do have the ability (now) to select what ever tone option(s) you choose .... for the Goldfield Mode. You can make it sound like any of the other Modes; yet, always keep in mind: it is a hyper-sensitive Mode ...... especially to very low conductors. Kinda hard to handle (at first).
Goldfield Mode...... in its original (unmodified) form/configuration....... is indeed a all-met

I have another minute.
Manticore and Goldfield Mode. You NOW can use it for relic hunting and micro-jewelry hunting BECAUSE the new MUU allows/gives more tone options. No longer is this Mode incarcerated to Prospecting only/exclusively. It is now a bit more 'General Purpose'. Personally ....... I like 1 Region - All Tones, M8 coil, Iron Volume '2', Recovery Speed(s) 2 or 3

Mark....... you may have answered on the wrong thread....... but that's ok.
Yes.......EMI WILL kill ID AND depth!!! Especially if the EMI is emanating/generated from underground power wires.

Del...... the ID numbers will always turn RED in any of the Modes........ as long as iron is not Notched/Discriminated out. In other words: If you select RED...... and you can hear the iron.,.,.,.,.,., their corresponding ID numbers will indeed light up with red digits.
Steve...... as time permits...... I shall elaborate more on the upgrade/improvements with this MUU. With my few minutes remai

Mark..... that really sounds like a bad EMI site!
And....... if the EQX is ID'ing a 4" dime as 'iron'....... that's high-mineralization. If EMI can be mitigated...... Tarsacci should perform better. , . , . , . , to include: ID the dime better.

This update ....is a worthy update; yet, minimally for beach hunters. If you are a IN-THE-WATER hunter........ the additional Volume control may be helpful. If you are a LCD screen watcher...... the "RED" numbers for iron/ferrous may be helpful. If you are ever a dry-sand hunter........ the new audio options for Prospecting/gold Mode is of benefit.

A source of silent EMI.
Which coil is this? The 12?
Do you have a different coil? The stock coil and 12" coil?
If so....... is the problem the same with either coil?

viper........ yes.....,,,,,,......... I have been testing a entire host of tests with Recovery Speed. Deeper targets go away with faster Recovery Speeds. In general........ faster Recovery Speeds will shorten (even: 'clip') the audio of a target.,.,.,.,., potentially 'fooling' the ear/brain into sounding too short.....as if to be ground chatter. And these results are with mask

For years........ I have been (Definitively) trying to find a certain/specific answer. I am posting on this thread....... because Manticore has enough 'tools' to allow good data-collection on the problem at hand.
Problem/Question ((in a nutshell)) = When you find a badly masked non-ferrous target (amongst carpets of nails/ferrous targets)..........
1. Can you change the velocity/sp

I have not been much 'in-the-loop' of the wireless headphones direction/selection......... so I am not fully on-board with the full targeted intent.
I do believe...... maybe later.,.,.,.,.,., there may be some aftermarket wireless/bluetooth options that will be created.,.,.,.,., that may be compatible with MC.

Right now....... no. You are somewhat incarcerated to the ML-105's.......... or......... wired phones of nearly any flavor.
Bluetooth technology is catching up to what is being used on MC. Let's just hope that it does not go by way of Beta tape.........vs........VHS tape!!!

Mark......... you are (enduring) transitioning through a painful learning-curve. It'll pay off......in a huge way.
Currently........ I am transitioning through a painful learning-curve with Manticore....... by dropping iron breakpoint (Ferrous Limits - Upper & Ferrous Limits - Lower) down to 3 & 3. This is a psychotic level to hunt with...... in carpets of nails; yet, ..... is prov

In general........the Tarsacci is above-average in EMI handling/mitigation; yet, certainly not immune.
Yes.........changing Freq's is the first step in reducing EMI.
Reducing Threshold & Sensitivity .......is the last thing you want to do; yet is the next step/requirement to reduce EMI.
Worst EMI offenders for any brand detector: Underground power wires.

Lawrenzo,
Here is my response on another post (to Kingfish) regarding the Legend:
I guess I'm overdue to 'come clean' about the Legend. --------It is a detector. It does detect metal. It is built like a tank........very rugged.......and very ergonomic. And it ID's targets very well. Good bang-for-the-buck.
But. Here's the issue. It passes the bench-test with flying

David.........thanks for bringing that video over here. It's top quality......and......as such.........deserves proper placement.
Chris........... somewhere on this thread........I have always claimed that: the Tarsacci presents about 70% accuracy...in the department of ID. It is a completely different Operating System. , . , . as compared to VLF's, SMF's and-the-like. Where the

Mike......... it takes a bit of a skillset; yet, what triggers me to dig a one-way hit (((of which you described very well/properly))) is...... how 'sharp' the hit is. Is it 'smeared'...'blurry'? Or is it a very clear/solid/distinct audio hit. High-tone falsing iron usually sounds more smeared/washed-out/blurry. This holds true for any detector. A little experience/s

VERY CLEAR.....and well-articulated video.
Even though the video is only 22-minutes long....... it probably took DAYS to collectively orchistrate.
This video should be posted on the huge Tarsacci thread!!!

What is NOT being shown....... is equally as important. If you choose a frequency (which is a wide span!!!) that is NOT resonant......... the salt will be splattered.......and not make a geometric/symmetrical pattern.
If you change the density, shape, thickness, mounting torque, dimensions of the plate...........any ONE of them..........and the harmonics (resonance) will be completely changed..

Something else that I have been encountering with Manticore:
I pass coil over a target. I acquire a ID of '70'...... and 2-chevrons deep on the depth bar-graph. Target turns out to be a 1914 penny at nearly 8" deep. This is easily a 4-chevron depth qualifier; yet, the detector presented a 2-chevron (shallow) depth indication. WHY!?!?!?
As I dig down to 7" - 8" depth m

Which......................then...........................makes me think: If the human ear can detect the nuances . , . , . , . , . , why can we not capture it electronically..........and harness the intelligence.

On a different note =
This is something I take for granted; yet, realize....that conveying this....may help others.
Here's what happens VERY frequently.
Today....... I dug a 3" deep Zinc Penny. The ID was '61'. The 2D graph indicated a well-defined very dark/hard/bright dot...... exactly on '61' on the non-ferrous line; yet, there was a large (less brilliant)

Polyphonic.
Poly - phonic
Poly = multi
Phonic = audio
Here is an example: Say you are in 1-Region, All Tones. You pass the coil over a jagged, elongated piece of aluminum soda-can can-slaw. The first part of the can-slaw is a larger blob of aluminum ...... that ID's (say) 33. The other end of the aluminum can-slaw narrows down to a very long, narrow, thin tail........ that ID's
