Also........ it is a guarantee that: there are non-ferrous targets residing with the carpets of nails. Yes...... old relics. At the same depth of the nails...... and also at deeper depths.
There are even deeper nails...... that are being masked by shallower nails. (((Even though this is unimportant; it still validates that shallower nails are ALSO masking deeper non-ferrous relics))).

Mark......... that is a VERY, VERY valid point. When nails 'false'........ they will usually false: High-Tone. This is ALSO to implicate........ nails rarely false to: Mid-Tone. This is ALSO to say: genuine Mid-Tone targets ....will still ID as a Mid-Tone........as long as they are not fatally masked.
When you dig the mid-tones....... YES........they will help date the era of the site.

And......... there's hardly any EMI on the beach....anyway.
EQX 700/900: Sensitivity has been somewhat rescaled.......and a little 'differently' from 600/800.

viper......... there is
1. Stabilizer
AND
2. Stabilizer Filter
These are two TOTALLY DIFFERENT functions.
Stabilizer Filter does NOT have to be "ON"........ in order for Stabilizer to function.
1. Stabilizer is adjusted from 0 - 12.......which is a algorithm that modifies how it reports potentially falsing iron.........and reduces falsing iron.
2. Stabilizer Filter......... is

Adam.......... the thing about dp (and Prospecting Audio on Manticore) in wet-salt.... is............. you can easily tell the audio aberrations of the conditions of the beach. This.................in turn................. then allows you to run Sens a point or 2 higher on the unit. THIS is where the extra performance is gained! (And fairly easily!).

Two more things:
Remember...................... when you are in any Beach Mode.........there is no Stabilizer function.
I know Andrew had a Tarsacci. I would have loved to hear the Tarsacci on those test-garden (back yard) targets!!! Especially/because of that specific salt & mineralization type of dirt.

I had no interest in watching a nearly 16-minute long video........... until I found out it was Andrew B. that did the video. He has VERY good skillset.
First....... Andrew's test-garden mineralization is quite high!
Second. Yes. Stabilizer is to only be utilized in nail-infested sites.
A side-effect of Stabilizer is...... depth reduction. IF you are in carpets of nails.......... depth

Adam......... your skillset/experience ....is 'showing' !!!
Yes...... your depth numbers sound rather exacting. Are you Beach Mode 1 or 2?

Chris...... you're welcome.
After test-garden validating/testing (and learning)......... and collectively adding this to real-World experience/testing........,,,,,,,,,,,............ you will start to see a pattern of commonalities. Then....... when you hit a new site......... your experience/skillset will .....nearly always..... be spot-on ....to HOW/WHAT types of techniques will work bes

In general........ a smaller coil SHOULD do better in carpets of nails................. regardless of detector brand.
But....... there's multiple caveats!
Something I run into...... here in FAST sink-rate Florida: A small coil may not even be able to reach the depths of where targets begin. A larger coil may reach these depths...... and JUST start to detect the deep targets; yet, separat

In one regard......... we have come a long way with unmasking and iron handling abilities. There's been leaps & bounds performed (especially in the algorithm department).......to give much better multi-target separation. DD coils, faster microprocessors, faster clock-speeds, better utilization of frequencies.....to include multi-frequency. , . , . , . , . are a few of the tools utilized.

For the record:
The new M8 coil is approx 14% better at unmasking..... in thick iron . , . , . , . , . , as compared to standard/stock 11" coil.
The new M8 coil is approx 3X deeper on tiny gold........ in a wet-salt environment. , . , . , . if configured properly.

There are 3 videos/options:
1. Real World Coin and Relic Hunting DVD (Out of production).
2. Real World Beach and Swimming Hole Hunting DVD (Still available).
3. Multiple different seminar DVD's from various clubs........ to include FMDAC seminars/presentations.

All Terrain - Low Conductors...... should be the same. Just make sure you are using the same Recovery Speed!!!
Beach - Low Conductors........ may be slightly different.

Woodbutcher........ that person ....would be ME.
I am the crazy person that can (irrefutably/definitively) tell you that a:
EQX-900 with stock 11" coil will ascertain a Nickel in wet-salt to 13.8" deep.
Manticore with 8" M8 coil will ascertain a Nickel in wet-salt to 14.0" deep.
Both units: apples-to-apples configured.
BUT........ I suppose this data is totally useless

Which leads me to the next sequential topic.
Throughout the Decades ...... I have always wondered: "WHY" do detectors go SO deep in a test-garden; yet, far from that.....in the real-World. =
Example:
If you beat-to-death a certain parcel of huntable land..... with different detectors.....different coils......different programs, different angles-of-approach . , . , . , . , . , . , .

Del...... yes...... it seems like big box stores have a higher propensity to having Manticores in stock.
Because of this........ I sure am receiving a LOT of repercussions from exactly this. Some users are finding....... if they want to acquire a Manticore....... they nearly have to go to big box. Then........ big box cannot answer any 'tech support' questions....... or even basic que

Del........ the true bottom-line is: DEMAND
The demand for this detector has been the highest......... since ML history. And............ even to the point whereby............ accessory coils production...is 'on hold'....... until we can get this SUPPLY/demand issue resolved on the actual unit itself. (Accessory coils are a 'secondary' concern...... compared to 'primary

I have many sites around the State of Florida...... that I categorize as: RWTG's.
That's = Real World Test Garden's.
Many/most... are carpets-of-nails. Some are DEEP targets only....fairly 'clean' sites. Some have mineral(s). Some have trace-elements of salt. Some may be a variant of all-of-the-above.
Some of these sites may only be postage-stamp size. Say: 7-foot x 1
