My Deteknix X-Pointer is great for mineralised soils and beach work, though not exactly the most sensitive out of the current crop of pinpointers. The TRX is definitely very sensitive, and achieve good depth in clean unmineralised soil. Unfortunately it is a double edged sword being so sensitive (especially on higher settings), as it will drive you nuts with falsing in some areas requiring a dr

It's still the lighter detector of the two, despite being a little nose heavy - that alone can make the difference for some, as well as a little less complex regarding programs and frequencies. Also currently has a greater range of factory and aftermarket coils, but that may well change in the future. Whether pricing stays the same after the Impact, that is yet to be seen.

Update bugs have been promptly sorted by XP. Personally I haven't noticed any issue with power consumption - been using V4.0 for a couple of extended hunts now on the same charge.

I don't detect in town much these days, much prefer the solitude of the forests searching through old house ruins - jeans, T-Shirt, sturdy footwear and my finds pouch is about it during summer.

What's a simple detector, a unit that employs factory programs and automated settings with the option to use expert or pro settings, an analog unit that requires a combination of settings via knobs to discriminate and ground balance, or a simpler budget unit that has limited settings, preset ground balance etc? Opinions will always vary greatly on the same detector on whether it is not only

Same as for the x-terra coils, all waterproof aside from the gold coil which is only water resistant. My Explorer coil has spent many hours submerged underwater.
No doubt it is going up against XP's Depar DPR600, good to see they got the weight down to 1.3kg for a change. Looks like the large battery compartment for the 8 AA's might double as a carrying handle.

I have to echo what the others mentioned on utilising a machine with some sort of discrimination vs a PI digging everything. I started off using a pulse induction Garrett Infinium (close cousin to the Sea Hunter) which proved to have excellent depth capabilty, though a lot of wasted time was spent digging an assortment of junk targets when I could have been leaving them in the sand. Can't

If you want a pinpointer for hot ground, better off with a Pulse induction pinpointer such as the units from Deteknix. Yes they can interfere with VLF detectors to a degree, though I guess that's just a trade off for stable operation in mineralised or salty conditions.
Seems to be a difficult proposition to have a single pinpointer that will not be prone to causing interference to either

Have used the Minelab Profind, Nokta RS, Deteknic XPOINTER, Whites TRX and the Garrett Carrot. The Garrett has become my favourite of the lot, reliable, loud and very easy to use,and no issues washing the mud of it at the end of the day. The TRX was a favourite, though the vibration motor sounds like it's on the way out, and the audio is quite poor when put up against the Garrett units. T

Yes, I just got mine here in Australia for the Racer 2, and the lowest volume setting is just acceptable, but anything within the rest of the volume

If you are at a complete loss, ensure both the coil, headphones and control box are fully charged, plug in the main control box to your pc/laptop and reload V3.2 from the XP website to see if it fixes the issue. Just follow the prompts and it should only take a few minutes, though do keep in mind that any saved programs will be lost when updating.
I had a similar issue with my WS4 remote show
