Does discrimination affect depth? If so, are digital notch discriminating detectors more or less affected than standard single dial non notch machines? Are there other adjustments that affect a machines depth of detection?

A person can learn from a fool or a wise man or he can consider himself wise in his own eyes and learn nothing. Not a comment directed toward anyone.

Calabash, the people that don't like or respect you are probably not going to change their opinion no matter what you find or what detector you use.The best thing for you to do is to ignore the negative people and keep doing your thing for the people that appreciate your posts and videos.

If I wanted to order an Equinox 800 from Cabelas, I would order it now. That way when the next shipment hit our shores it will be directly drop shipped to you.

I've got a Equinox 800 as well and it is a great machine no question. When I purchased it, money was an issue for me and I was having a hard time deciding between Two sub four hundred dollar used CZ's or the Equinox. Decided to put my tax return into the equinox. I'm happy with my purchase but my decision has some drawbacks. One being that I don't have a back up machine and th

Thanks Calcbash for another look into the abilities of the Equinox to separate targets. Keep the videos coming. Hows your friend with the nox 600 liking it?

Two things that make older metal detector designs still a viable detecting option. One is the ability of a person to research and door knock to get on virgin or near virgin hunting property. This alone will get you a lot more good finds than buying the latest and greatest machine will. The other is the fact that people are still losing stuff even as we speak. The latest tech may give you more of

Thanks for all the opinions and discussion on this subject. It has given me a lot to think about. Working out a beach discrimination pattern for only gold makes a lot of sense for beach hunting and i can see devoting one or two hours of the high tide to micro jewelry hunting, but doing that type of hunting all day would be tiresome.

In the distant past i used to beach hunt a lot with a CZ and did fairly well on gold rings in the wet sand but never found anything that I would call micro jewelry. I quit hunting in salt water when they started pumping sand out of the ocean to build up the local beaches. Now I have a Equinox and am wondering if working the towel line for micro jewelry might make beach hunting enjoyable again? Do

dewcon 4414, I work in a jewelry store and tested small jewelry such as earrings and small pendants with the results being that park 2 in multi frequency hits best. Im not sure why, but at least in air tests it beats the beach modes which should be heavily weighted toward small gold.

I ordered a Equinox from Cabelas on February 20 and received my Equinox 800 on march 2. Most people seemed to give up on Cabelas after receiving the out of stock notification that I received shortly after placing my order. Because the detectors were being drop shipped from the manufacturer, I received my order as soon as Minelab had a new shipment in the U.S. If I had kept my order with Kellyco,

So I understand that minelab has a patent on detectors that run multi frequencies all the time and that eliminates the competition from using this technology. My idea is to get around the patent by designing a machine that had multi frequencies which could be turned on and off independently or combined to run at the same time. This would offer the next step in being able to fine tune the detector

The DMC 2ba is worthy of induction into the relic hunting hall of fame. I wish I could find a nice used one for sale. The sad thing is that when Mr Tyndall passed, that was tithe end of production and repairs. I have often wondered why one of the larger manufacturers has not bought out the patents and started production back up or digitized and updated the design and produced a new version.

I am thinking about purchasing a CZ-3D as I have had CZ's in the past and really enjoyed using them. My question is are the current production units as good as the older units produced before First Texas took over Fisher? Thanks in advance for all replies.
