Yes, it has been done. No, its not a something you really want to do. Its not like the old-school detectors that could be easily hip-mounted. I only know of 1 person who did it and IIRC he wasnt really thrilled with the total outcome. Remember, the battery pack sits in the upper shaft behind the head.

The forum layout is horrible now for me when accessing it with Chrome. However, if I load the page with IE, I get a notice that "displaying only secure content" When I select to display all content, I can view the forum as it used to look.

I dont know that model, but I'm going to guess its the old-school twist lock mechanism. I have jambed up my old whites water detectors many times. What I used was soapy water, light taps with a rubber mallet and manual twisting on the collar. You will probably have to make many cycles of tapping and twisting. LOL, yeah I discovered that when testing the gold mode on the Equinox. I couldn't figure out where my target was because I kept dividing the dirt in my hand and it kept giving a signal. Until I finally emptied my hand and discovered the "target" was my hand.
