From what I've heard I think I remember he mentions in a video that Minelab sent him his own Manticore. I could be wrong but I don't think so.

Tom can you explain the FE setting on the NOX 900? The 800 had an FE and F2 setting. I believe if I'm right and F2 setting of zero was the equivalent of FE -1. Is that right Tom? With the 900 FE setting of 0 is??? Thanks

Has anyone watched Brass Medics video on YouTube with the Manticore and falseing on iron? He thinks he's figured out something that carried over from the CTX 3030. Its worth a look gonna test the 900 out tomorrow and see how it sounds in the iron....

The OEM shaft and headphones are just plain stupid.
Yes I ended up bring an Anderson Short Shaft for scuba diving and the knob guard that goes with it also. The head phones are what they are not terrible but could be better I guess. I just picked up the Excel II this past year but I more than enough with my NOX 800 to pay for it and the excel. But the 800 took on water twice like many others.

I asked Tom that very question several months back before buying a Excal II and if I remember right ML has so many irons in the fire and it's a proven machine and there were no plans on updating it anytime soon. If the MC or 900's are water tight unto 16' I will be using that for beach hunting and the Excal II when diving15' Plus

Is there a Problem with the Manticore? Is that why Minelab is not sending this out to dealers as they have a problem to fix? Can't figure out why this unit won't be sitting under 1000's or 10,000 trees this Christmas.... Have you heard anything NASA-Tom?

Tom I live in Ohio and hunt primarily Fresh water and 1800s sites. How does the CTX 3030 compare to the MC at these types of sites?
I also have an equinox 800 I just got back from Minelab yesterday, as it was my second one that got water inside. How does the MC compare to finding very small gold ear rings in the water? My NOX usually rang in around a 1 or 2 for those.
Thx Mike

Hey Tom I and many others like the cable that ran inside instead of outside. That was an awesome feature on the 3030. Any reason they didn't carry that design forward to there newer machines?

Hey Tom or anyone else that might have the info. I bought an excalibur II and was wondering is there something that can be put on the cables at the end of a season to condition them and extend their life? Thanks Mike

Excalibur II
Hey Tom is there any plans on upgrading the Excalibur II software? Being it has been out around 10-15 years. Would be nice if they had something like the equinox software in the Excel.... Any feed back would be great Tom.....

Only use 50 Tones. Would also be nice to have a big TID numbering system. Instead of 40 How about spreading it out over a 180 like the Sovereign or more?

Thanks I'll try that but trying to understand what recovery does to the sound you hear. Not how fast it switches from target to target... I talked to a friend and he said the tones are to long and drawn out on 2 or 3. Thats why I a

I very rarely look at the screen just listen to the tones!!! When one catches my interests then I will take a peep at the screen. So if I didn't have to watch the screen for every beep it would be very beneficial....

Might be a stupid question would there be any value in having a detector that could be setup to give you only signals at certain depths like 7" + anything less would not be audible... Something that could be programmed into the machine... I've hunted allot of old 1800 houses and some have gotten new windows put in so there is a ton of flashing around. Which I knew we are in the biz to d

Thanks Tom I think for the most part I've been able to after looking and looking find a small patch of ground at the sites I've been hunting that doesn't give me any noise or sounds. Usually takes 4-6 pumps to get the machine to settle on a solid number that doesn't change. Would it be more beneficial to noise cancel before or after the ground balance? I would think think afte
