wjs, What Software version are you running in this test. The update to 1.05 is suppose to have updated "parameters" to Multi 1. I'm not sure if this addresses the lead bullet hitting so low. My first tests today concur with your observations, lead hitting low. Conversely, a Silver "War" Nickle hits 10 points higher than a regular Jefferson. Both multis seem to favor th

For now, on my high mineral sites without a lot of small iron, I GB with Salt off or on a low number, then set my Salt balance, then do a final re- GB with that SB setting. This allows me to monitor the ground feedback in Mixed mode & re GB if needed. Most of my sites are or were forested in the past & the ground seems to change some as you hunt, just enough to notice. I suspect the old d

So is rust & small disintegrating iron desensitized at lower Salt balance settings than foil & small AL? I don't think the SB is linier like a Disc control.

Thanks for posting the video. He has another video of 19 minutes of a Park hunt using the Goldfield mode that is good. I really like the VCO audio & wish NM would make it a stand alone audio option for all modes.

Are you seeing a correlation between relative GB & SB settings? In my high mineral sites, the higher the GB the lower the required SB. You can run Salt up with no obvious ill effects in you choose to. If you re-GB with the higher Salt setting you will get a lower GB # than initially. I am still trying to find the optimal range. Add iron/nails & it is even more interesting. Mild mineral si

The Impact & Anfibio series will be viable machines until there is a real breakthrough in tech. They are very high performing. Multi frequency machines don't mean automatic obsolescence of single frequency units. They both are useful. I have a Legend Pro pack on the way and am really looking forward to it. I expect it to be very, very good but I will always keep my Anfibio Multi because

I think this shows Dimitar is working on suggested improvements for the next itineration of MDT. The tones needing more separation was one of the things I had spoken to him about. I also think the next generation will allow for updates & optimizing for individual hunting conditions.

Steve, Are you still using the wired Tarsacci supplied headphones? If so I think you will find the modulated volume you want & need to HEAR the softer deep targets AND not get blasted by shallower targets with a pair of high ohm headphones like Killer B's/Sun Ray Golds. They also have a limiter if needed. That was the best, most helpful change for me. Night & day difference.

Yes that is true by today's norms, but the earlier generation of nugget hunters did well in that same range. The Garrett Groundhog 15 kHz machines were well respected in their day by serious hunters.

Has anyone tried the Vista X for nugget hunting? With it's excellent mineral/ground handling, precise disc & target separation capabilities it should perform well.

I have found all the available frequencies work well but, have their own subtle characteristics. I have not learned these enough to even be able to define them. Dimitar recommend 12 kHz for red dirt. I most often use 6.4 kHz for some reason. It seems smoother. 18 kHz seems friskier & it's audio is higher pitched & tighter.
NASA Tom, have you investigated getting some mineralized

My testing is not as exacting as NASA Tom's but shows the same performance. I have found that in High mineralization lower Sensitivity will give better target acquisition. Too much and fringe targets get washed away in the ground response. It will still hit but gives a solid -30 or -29. This was surprising to discover but can be used to advantage since no normal iron will lock on -30. Lower

Thanks for posting the video. Glad to know the Legend is being shipped. I sure was hoping they would add a Mineralization meter. Anyway, looking forward to getting mine.

I hope all the more quiet members will not let the "hot topic of the month", what ever it may be, cause them to be hesitant in posting "other" content. Most of us can do more than one thing at a time.

My initial tips for using the Tarsacci MDT 8000 are;
Begin learning the detector at modest Sensitivity & Threshold levels. You do not have to run this machine Hot to get good depth. Quiet stability is the key to seeing the unique abilities the MDT can bring. With experience you will get a feel for how to set it up for a site. Some sites will allow high settings, many only moderate, some onl
