Thanks for the info. Guess that means I'm not finding a deal on an older Deus...lol. It's nice to be able to update the software vs purchasing a new detector.

Sort of a twist on words. Yes the old coils will work on the new Deus. But the new coil will not work on the old Deus. So I will wait for version 4 to be released with the new coil.

Old Deus??? No such animal. At least not now-- now when the remote and headphones are no longer compatible,,, then maybe we could call it old.

Now there are old coils,, the ones we are currently using.

Remote, headphones,,should work with both the newer coil and the old.
Must be updated to version 4 though.

So to be able to fully utilize Version 4, you will have to buy a new $400 to $500 coil?

Yes the new coil will cost you money. And yes your old coils will lose all their value.

From my understanding is that version 4 will work with all coils, but will not be able to do a lot of the things the new unreleased coil will do.

The answer is yes,, but we need to wait and see what the new coil offers.
It only makes sense it would enhance separation some,,, but there are other things version 4.0 may do for folks even using the older coils.

For say a coin hunter,,, the newer coil might not be as beneficial as one might think.

We will have to wait and see.

There are some things if version 4 changes over version 3 will certainly be beneficial-- and these are settings changes/ adjustment options offered.

I don't think if a person opts not to buy new coil--- that it will make version 4 a total loss
