Hey Whimpster, why do you feel it is so hard to set up a manually Ground Balanced machine? I was tuning mine up according to the manual and never had a problem. This is way before the internet and I didn't have any help from other people. It ain't that hard, no rocket science here..... One trick on ground balancing that you won't hear from others is this: The GB procedure is done in the AUTO all-metal mode with a just audible Threshold, this is a quick acting all metal mode. .....start with the coil parallel and flat to the ground and from about 6 inches high... rapidly move coil to just above ground and listen for a change in the threshold. Do this coil bobing up and down movement while adjusting the GB knob. If it nulls or the Threshold goes silent turn GB Knob clockwise, if Threshold gets louder turn GB Knob counterclockwise.

You make good videos Bill S but this one disappointed me. The Bandido ll µMax is an old site, ruins, ghost town type of machine putting the ED-120 discrimination circuit to good use, knocking out small nails at MIN Disc. setting. It is not a detector to be used in a park with a lot of modern trash. This (park) type of hunting requires a Target ID machine so you can trend the common trash items with either VDI numbers or named items on a meter. I hunt with my Bandidos at relic type sites in a rural setting and can use a shovel to be my target ID....something that should never be done at a park!

I only made the video give the people an idea of how it operated and sounded. I would not use it for everyday park hunting.....;o)
