Oversize coils an air test vs stock and smaller than stock

2 foot of snow here so I got bored.

Original issue G2 that reads Gold Bug on startup ver. 3 with 11" DD Biaxial vs Mars 6x10 Sniper, Mars 10x13 Tiger and NEL 13" Tornado.

Targets tested: small nugget, dug Buffalo nickel, dug green IH penny and dug pointed nose 3 ringer.

Sensitivity wide open with all coils smooth and quiet during testing.

Order of test: Small nugget... Buffalo.... IH... 3 ringer

Stock coil..............2.75"..........11..........10......11
Mars Tiger.............2.5"............12.5.......11......11
NEL Tornado.........2.5"...........12.5.......11......12
Mars Sniper...........3"...............11..........10......10.5

Basically no difference between the stock and 6x10 Sniper. Advantage Sniper coil due to separation.

Again, no real difference between the Tiger and Tornado. Advantage goes to the Tiger for its much lower weight and separation on par with stock coil

It surprising there isn't much increase on the large coils.

Some of the deepest silver coins that I have dug, I was using a G2 with a 11 inch DD search coil. I was digging those whisper audio signals.

Tabmyman, I remember one of your post I read several years ago about those whisper signals on the G2. Well now I know what you were talking about. They do strike a nerve.

Great post Jack. Been looking at getting the tornado or something to get a little more depth. This is very helpful. My only issue is I've been told all my life that it ain't the size of the ship, it's the motion of the ocean. :grinning smiley
