Forum acting strange...
July 29, 2017 05:06AM
I have noticed that there are a lot of ads showing up on the forum when I visit. Also noticed that I can't go back a page after reading other pages. If I 'right click' on the back arrow, it shows about 20 pages of the forum I can go back to but they all lead to the page I'm on.

There's some activity going on in bottom left of my screen that keeps popping up for a bout half a second and looks like it's trying to reload the page I'm on. Anyone else notice any of these things or is it just my computer?

I have had issues with the forum ever since it was updated. What I have done is installed Google Chrome and then installed Add Block Plus and now it operates like the forum use to before the updates.

The only problem with blocking ads is that if EVERYBODY ( or too many people ) block the ads then what pays for the website hosting? The ads are what keeps the website 'free' ( except for the inconvenience of having to deal with the ads ). Just saying...

Only problem is for those of us that surf a lot, pop-ups ads become more than annoying. Even slow down a website from loading while the ad loads first. One reason I don't watch TV channels much, every 5 minutes or so 5 minutes worth of commercials, no different on radio stations in the car, most of the time I get really tee-d off with the constant barrage of commercials and no music. Flipping TV channels or scanning for a new radio station doesn't help. Commercialism is everywhere. So I chose to tune it out. I have ads on my website as well, I just break even on my yearly website hosting fee. If some one wants to block them, that's fine. I prefer a ad commercial free web surfing experience, one place I can control what I want to read and see.

I am on a MAC and don't get any "Pop Up" ads, just see the banners top and bottom and they are easy to ignore!

Figured it out. Doubleclick or something of that name was getting by my ad-block. Singled it out and took care of it.

I'm like you Sven. I watch tv about 2 hours a year! Don't even trust the news anymore. Radio hasn't been on in my truck for several years. I remember a couple years ago that everyone seemed to be in a big hurry to get somewhere on the hwy. I thought something might have happened so I turned it on to the local collage station for about 3 minutes and nothing was said about anything so I turned it back off. Must have been a full moon.

To much static in the world.
