Hi,

Just a little intro. I got started in detecting as a kid with my father, using the old BFO's, around 1970-ish.

Fast forward to about 8 yrs ago, when I got a detector to look for an expensive lost ring, bought for my oldest daughter for her 16th birthday. Been detecting ever since.

Look forward to the occasional chat about the hobby, and equipment.

Rod-PA, to answer your question, no I didn't find the ring. My daughter spent time in a park/playground area located near her best friend's house. She "thought" it could have been lost there, but they also were in other locations, so realistically it was a shot in the dark.

It provided me the reason to get back into detecting, something I had thought about many times before. I found several items of valuable jewelry at that park/playground in the subsequent yrs, but not that special one.
