I seem to remember that she did mention a waterproof detector being in the works. On this forum or another one. They all blend together in my mind.

Racers work very well on the wet salt for a VLF..

By all means please define what is exactly meant by the term "ready"??

Anyone here can respond.
Love to hear your responses.
I am asking this for good reason.

How long should a detector be in one's hands after model announcement?
Or at the very least model is being sold openly on commercial market.
Granted the number of available completed units may still be shy of actual demands..

Should any manufacturer be posting xxx model coming soon on Internet, etc?
With no target release date.

And should the same standard be applied for version updates, like XP with Deus?
Remember the case with Xp and versions 4.0 involved not only the detector but coils and a pinpointer.

Here is my opinion.

"By all means please define what is exactly meant by the term "ready"??"

To me, "ready" means with-in the next month, it should be in consumers hands.

"Should any manufacturer be posting xxx model coming soon on Internet, etc? With no target release date."

They shouldn't make customer wait unnecessarily. I can understand fine tweaking and production hiccups. However, this uniformed delay, coupled with what I can call, at the very least, "unusual" events really hurt the community(and if you think that is supposition, you need to research more). Whether they are fine tuning, having production issues, or waiting for this tax bill to pass, we should be informed as per the Consumer Bill of Rights.

Like I said in my "conspiracy" thread, this delay is hurting Minelab, giving other manufacturers an advantage, and disrupting the community.

If you are fine waiting, that is your prerogative and I have NO issues with anyone that does.

Oh good grief, everyone knows that companies build up (hype) a new product a long time before its actually released to decrease the sales of its competition in order to increase its market share when they actually have something to sell. Sometimes companies run into unforeseen snags that holds up a release of a new product. It's just the way things are and I'm going detecting today, have fun with a old detector (MXT Pro) and not worry about it. LOL
