End of January 2018

Anyone heard of the Equinox hitting the US yet?
Kellyco still say non yet.

my understanding was that they would be shipping from minelab at the end of January, then 30 days to get to the distributors, then a few weeks to get to the dealers(or customers no one is sure on this) then another week or two to get to the customer.

Majority guessed estimated time: mid-March to early April

"Minelab is pleased to announce that the new EQUINOX Series of detectors is expected to be available for purchase worldwide from late January, 2018 onwards"

Expected to be available for purchase!

If what you say is correct, then there's been many dealers mislead their customers.

I hope you guys are right i would like to have it ASAP!

I think Minelab will need to make a new statement re EQ Feb 1st, either an "Emeril" BAM they are at the distributors (or close) right now.
Or, sorry there will be a delay and customers won't "be able to lay their hands on one" till March, April whatever due to "unforeseen" circumstances.
Regardless, whether good or bad news Minelab needs to provide a new statement re EQ. And they should clarify their meaning as to when they will get to dealers vs distributors vs actual customers. I simply like/want to know the facts and where my preorder stands.

Common coutesy Minelab! Cheers....and remember Canada is part of the Commonwealth also so throw us a biscuit and ship ours in a reasonably quick fashion, lol.

It truly is the Equinox maybe we won't see them to March.

Heck I would be satisfied with some decent videos in English. I have seen better videos for the new Makro Kruzer then the Nox. I'm still a Nox guy in waiting, but I can honestly say that Minelab has gone out of it's way to screw this release up.

ML said at the U.S. ML Dealers meeting this month that the EQ would be delayed. Strictly looking at the shipping logistics to the U.S., I seriously doubt anyone in the U.S. will receive a production unit until March or possibly even April. It has to ship via container shipment from Malaysia to the U.S. (that's a good month or so), be processed by customs (unknown time delay), then shipped to the distributor. Will the distributor ship to the dealer to reship to the end customer, or will they drop ship it to the end customer on behalf of the dealer and save a bit of time and (dealer) shipping costs. This last variable is unknown, but all of these variables equal time, and in customers eyes, delays.

I honestly cannot believe that people prepaid for their pre-orders back in September, I too would be pissed if I paid for something that wasn't delivered to me for 7-8 months (although it was their choice). Don't quote me on this, but it may actually be illegal in some states. I understand the pre-paid point is not a ML issue, it's a dealer <> customer issue.

I cant get excited about the other companies stuff when I know, as the song says, it's "just another brick in the wall". Minelab is the only one doing something different with new technology. Something just tells me it's gonna be worth the wait.

Vlf I think is finally at its dead end company's need to give up on it and give us somthing truly innovative or I'm not interested.

Yeah VLF detectors have never found anything.

Just a Guess here; What Minelab had in the pipe ready to go with their Equinox Technology Series may have changed with the addition of Multi-IQ to the Gold Mode and the addition of the Iron Bias setting. May have had to re-do their presentation. Again, just a guess.

You may be right.

Nobody said that VLFs haven't found anything. What was said was they have been stagnant for quite a while now; plateaued if you will. Thus is why you can select a VLF machine from just about any manufacturer and it will be very close in performance to those offered by other brands. There might be a few subtle nuances for each particular brand, and of course, there will always be brand loyal fanboys that will argue their brick is better. But as said before...all in all, it's just another brick in the wall. Something new and cutting edge has been awaited by many detectorists to take us to the next level in detection. I don't care who gets us there, but you can't argue with Minelabs track record for doing just that and I'd place my bets on it being them to do it again.

Id rather they got it right the first time...... as they say measure twice cut once. Wonder what kind of marketing value it would have if ..... suddenly dealers started calling people saying when can i send yours? I suspect the forums would light up again..........

The dealer I spoke to that attended the meeting said no such thing.

Correct. No such thing was said at the annual Partners Conference. They said that the Nox should be in dealers hands by the end of the month. Probably see it in the next few days.

This is a monster of a thing logistically-the Equinox.
Minelab has never faced this monster before.

Don't think some real thinkers are not involved with their every move.

They sure don't need to botch after the curtain is pulled back.

A movie can't be called bad until is it seen.

I'll make a prediction right now, even after release there will still be some that rant.
Why?
Because there just won't be enough units to go around to satisfy desires.

I am sure Minelab is weighing this equation of completed units vs demand numbers.

And that's just the thing. ML knows the importance of this machine to the community. They should know that information of release is very valuable. So, why so quiet?

You know me, I'm "Mr. Conspiracy", but I can only theorize that this purposeful "black out" of information, and what appears to be a delay in release for the second time(in my book), is being done for a different motive. If there are no announcements or substantial news out of the ML camp, there is a bigger picture here that we aren't seeing. For all we know, They may have just started production on them.

Sloan Kettering just announced they are discontinuing ALL future cancer research.
Seems a guy parachuted out of a plane with "The Cure".

If they believe they have it right....... its best to ship as many as possible, even to the point of holding back. Once they are out.... thats it...... people will be all over using and testing them for THEIR area and purpose. Price doesnt seem to be the issue like the CTX.... so its sell fast and as many as you can. Sells after that........they will obviously go up or down based on our results. Id want to push um out.... and a lot of um. Hey..... but before you do ... please put that thing in a bathtub over night lol.
