In a perfect world I would agree but I really think you can do a better job of recovery with a bigger shovel and the dirt on the surface when the ground is that wet and snowy is really irrelevant. However , the visual image of a guy digging in the park with a shovel is really lasting and damning in the public's eyes. Fields and private property with permission , I'd go for the Samson as well or even a ground pick but still fill in the holes. It's videos like this that people make that hurt the hobby when they have a broad method of dispersal without any disclaimer or warning to people it might inspire to take up the activity. All to keep from getting the knees muddy and to satisfy an ego.

you guys are brutal. Wheres the videos make a video...you suck you are doing wrong...lol

It was nice to see the machine on actual targets. No compaints here.

I noticed the same thing. The depth meter and modulation has me a little worried.
Hard to judge in a video and when the detector is not in your own hands though.
Hoping I’m just missing something here. Depth meter and modulation is a BIG deal for my me and my style of hunting..

Humor indeed. Need more of it.

I think the depth gauge may have been off because he was never centered over a target.

Your probably right bigboar.. he might have been holding the coil off the ground a ways too.
I went back to watch the video again but its not playing now..
I guess I’ll find out Wednesday when mine shows up.

Anyone doing a video is going to get critiqued.... no ones perfect guys.... its information and thats what we need now. I used to hunt a lot of parks.... many of those shallow targets i'd use my PPer on and just pop them out. Im looking forward to the videos....... so dont beat um up to much.

No one is being brutal , it is what it is ,,,,,drivel that's detrimental to the cause.
A simple three paragraph statement would be more informative.
A simple two minute video on Keith's deck with a dime between the screws would be infinitely more informative than wasting 20 minutes of peoples lives watching someone massage their mind. At least I am assuming there was nothing to gain after about the 5 minute mark where I spit the bit and stopped watching.
It is admittedly nice to hear the tones and see the screen in action but that's actually old news by now.

I dont think he ground balanced nor noise cancelled. Did he adjust any of the settings? I may be a little hard on the guy, but I am also trying not to sugar coat anything.

Geez guys. All you have been wanting to see for months now has been real world use by non Minelab staff or testers. Someone posts a video of just that, and you still find things to complain about. I thought it was a good snapshot of a typical trashy modern park with realistic finds. If he would have done a video and had silver coming out left and right, you guys would have said it was all staged and his finds were salted. If he would have used a trowel and towel for recovery, you would have said he took too much time digging. If he would have cut out the digging and just went straight to the finds, you would have said he cut the camera and planted something in the dirt pile to make the detector look good. You would have complained if he didn't show the sounds of the detector, just the same as some of you are now about him showing them.

Something for all the overly critical folks to think about.
I am going to single out a person here.
Mr Keith Southern.
We watch his vids don't we??

Does anyone here think Keith just turns on a new to him detector and go hot on a video camera and then upload for us to watch?
Or has he already performed previously what he re dos when videoing?

Yeah, he gets a detector delivered turns it on pops up on his deck with the dime In the crack and videos.
Don't think so. Or does videos righ out the gate in his test bed.

Please give consideration to folks doing videos.

goes through setting around 3-5 min mark. even did a noise cancel. gb set on default 0.

I am left thinking it's a super fast light weight Safari after watching the video.
