Nox..... updates
September 24, 2018 06:43PM
Ive got a dumb question or two. Im not certain how programmers do things so i thought id ask. I noticed our options are 1.5 or 1.75 to use with the Nox. I was told this allow us to use either program. But ive got a WHAT IF..... what if your machine was initially programed with 1.4 .... or earlier even? I say that because i didnt see anywhere that told me what version i was running. So once you upload 1.75.... then make a decision.... well i dont care for this im going back to the old one...... did you really? Id assume the 1.5 was cleaned up as well to get rid of any bugs. Can someone tell me .....when we OVER WRITE our current software with the 1.75...... is it saving our old version, id say NO. Im wondering about that because i went back and it seems a little different.

all production models roll out with the same software version which is the most stable. In this case it was 1.5. I don't think anyone got a production model with anything less

My point was..... what if they ALL rolled out with 1.4? I think im correct.... it over wrights the program. So i was trying to see if there was a way to see what version you had? Some one asked me because they didnt want to go to the new 1.75 not like it and NOT get the same version originally loaded on their detector.

My unit is a very early model sold in USA. It had the earlier version mentioned above in it as far as I know.
There is no way by accessing/looking at detector which version is installed.
Don’t know Minelab’s reason for not having either the version being displayed at turn on or having a way to access-since Equinox is updatable with any available version made to the public.
I think my old XS Explorer even shows version at turn on.

One can pick which version they want to load in their detector.

After hooking up detector to computer if it says it’s current , you have latest version already installed.

I think all update-able detectors should have a 2 button push to view the software version.

The logic of ML doing something like that escapes me. Why bother.

I got my Equinox Feb. 14, and for what it's worth, it had v. 1.5 loaded on it...
