What to expect from a cz3d
March 31, 2019 02:48PM
I'm new to the sport of metal detecting,I was lucky enough to find a cz3d for a great price and have been working the beaches of Florida and having a great time, I'm heading to CT.for the summer and have a chance to detect a few old abandoned homesteads, my question is what should I expect from my CZ? I read that one detector is good for gold, another good for artifacts, another good for small jewelry and another good for silver, I don't have the funds to pay for 4 different machines.

Should work well for deep silver at your new areas...if junky areas might suggest a small coil...

I have both 8"stock and a 10.5" coil, which would you recommend to use?

if in lots of junk use the small coil. once you're in a quieter area use the larger one. Good Luck and Happy Hunting

The coil Dan is referring you too is the 6”. You will definitely need this coil if you plan on hunting old homesites which usually will contain tons of nails and lots of other nasty rusty stuff. You’ll get a lot of knulling in that iron, dont be afraid of digging that big iron that could masking some good relics.

Have yet to own a detector that would not locate gold, relics, jewelery, or silver. Think you are listening to the wrong crowd.

Actually the small coil is a 5" coil 'aka' the Hockey puck.

Opps, yep Harold’s corrupt, err I mean correct! I was thinking TESORO small coil. : )

Most of here have started w a CZ and mastered it and found EVERYTHING w it! I’d recommend the same to you, stick w that CZ, cut your teeth w it and have FUN.

Thanks for all the input, I feel more confident now. I'll pick up smaller coil and have at it, thanks again

Stop listening to the experts who attempt to sell you their machines because they are the best for X.
CZ3D will easily find everything, all types of targets. Its one of the best analog machines ever produced.
You will not struggle or make excuses when using a CZ3D.

outstanding audio modulation at depth. deep, deep,
detector!..ohh! did i say "deep'?."loves deep silver.
in more open areas, like "ball fields" or big open parks, use that
10.5" coil will get you even deeper...use the 5" hockey puck in the junk! doesn't have a fast recovery speed, but will find it's share in the trash! hunt slowly, and "listen!"
