Does any one know what ohm speaker is in the cz7a detector

Seems they were 16 Ohms//its probably the same as most of the other CZs and even 1266 etc.

I believe you would be better off trading it for a Pro.

Seems the Cz-7a ran on 12 AAs so yes if you had the bottom control box off a pro and the right handle it should be doable.Have I done it?? No.

I sort of like the Cz-7a myself though batteries lasted longer and the balance was better in my opinion.and since you have the (a) model no battery drain when turned off like on the first 7 model that used 12 AAs.

The upside is hip mount or chest mount for wading on the pro.

though as cheap as you can pick up pros it may be beneficial to keep the rarer 7a intact .Unless you already have a trashed pro on hand.

Thanks Keith, I will just use the 12 aa batteries nd be happy with it.
