do they have some new later electronics inside or are they just clones of other machines| from the USA?where have they suddenly excelled from?are their designs radical and new?

The Alter71 has some new features, primarily the frequency generation circuitry. On the receive side of things, it's using the microprocessor to do nearly all the work - demodulation, filtering, discrimination blahblah, much like the MineLab X-Terra machines.
It's possible that it's their stepping-stone to a multi-freq machine. It's an easy step to generate a multi-freq transmit signal, and it's not hard to process two/three freqs at once. It's just the difficulty of what to do with this information. That's what takes lots of development time.

Mr. Pim. You just said a mouthful!

It's just the difficulty of what to do with this information. That's what takes lots of development time.

Ever wonder why Fisher has not replaced the CZ series with a new platform or why (until possibly the Equinox) Minelab never went significantly beyond the FBS/BBS multifreakers?

It’s because of what you said. Signal Generation and Signal Processing are the simple parts - deriving information from the processed signals that minimize the effects of ground noises and emi while delivering useful user information as to the nature of the target - THAT’S the part which explains why Nokta, Rufus, Garrett, XP, you name it - haven’t brought simultaneous multifreakers to market.

Off-topic: I think Fisher could've made a digital version of the CZ machines. A 13 / 39 kHz version,( rather than CZ's 5 / 15k ) would've been a great idea, in my opinion as a European hunter. The Equinox pretty much ticks that box, and more, hence its growing number of adopters here. [ and I'm one of them, having got a 600 last month ]

Rutus ( or NokMak ) could still produce a competitive multi-freq machine, though.
The Equinox doesn't "do it all". How about lower frequency operation, eg. 3 or 4 kHz as the lowest of the multi-freq components? - that would be for the US-style milled silver coin hunters. Or a specialist nugget machine, maybe 25kHz as the lowest freq? Rutus are one of the few using stereo audio, there's definitely opportunities to make use of this ability in conjunction with multi-freq operation. I did say somewhere in an early Equinox thread that I hoped ML made the Equinox stereo-capable, even if it wasn't utilised initially.
The Equinox doesn't have an All-metal mode option. In single-freq operation, this would appear to be simple to implement, as it's just the same as any standard single-freq machine. In multi mode, there's several ways of creating all-metal. And this is where stereo audio may come into play. Stereo all-metal, with a lower coil-freq bias in one ear, and a high coil-freq bias in the other ear? Mash up a multi-freq all-metal, maybe blending them so that whatever coil-freq 'hits the hardest' dominates the audio report. Then do the usual Nautilus-style "Disc in one ear / AM in the other ear" process.

I expect to see a lot of development in multifreakers and I am pretty sure that some designers are pretty interested in doing more with audio.

Deeptech’s doing that w their audio right now.
Its the BEST audio I’ve ever heard in iron.
Unbelievably descriptive.

Alter71

A metal detector with the capabilities demanded by advanced users, but provided with preloaded settings which make it ideal for beginners also.

The Alter 71 detector can not only be used as a static detector for very deep low frequency work, but just as effectively as a rapid, dynamic detector for locating small non-ferrous objects using high frequencies.

The flexibility of the detector is enhanced further by the option of dual mode, using the benefits of motion and non-motion mode simultaneously.
