Managed to get out today ( with pics )

.........yep, managed to get out to the little park we hunted a few weeks ago.

This time, I hunted close to the old jail again. I figured if there was silver there before, there has to be more. I spent most of my time near here:



Halfway between the tree on the right & the stump in the middle of the pic was this target:



You may be thinking big deal. However, this one was a fun one to recover.

The bottom of this hole was about 10" deep & a 1" root has grown thru this target.
You can see it below:



Now remember...I'm in a city park & can only use that gator digger.
In fact, I couldn't even use the sawtooth blade.
There was no room to saw that root.
I had to place the digger in the center of the root & pound it thru.....

This is what came out of the hole......



Hmmm, pretty cool. Haven't dug one of them in a while. All together, I found no silver today.
Only a wheatie an indian head penny & some zincolns.
The CZ3D was hot on those nickels today.

Here's the total take after I cleaned up everything:



I cooked that stirrup this evening & will spray paint it tomorrow evening.
Then it goes in one of the display cases here at home.
It is still warm enough here in the midwest to detect.
Usually it's frozen this time of the year & hunting is almost impossible.
Man...how I love global warming!!

Yes...... with that many coins......... it looks like that area has never been hunted. And with that many nickels......... it has never been hunted with/by a CZ.

Great finds!!!! And great pics. Congrats on a fine hunt!!! I would consider that day a success!!!

Nice day out and thanks for the pic's.....going to be 50 tomorrow N.E. Pa. and going swinging locally...perhaps a few clad or ring as will be only able to dig shallow...Its called beating cabin fever..gloves and all.....
Found the biggest gold college ring years ago in Jan. so one never knows....
