Hey Dave Johnson,How about an FZ 100 T.D. model ?

I think Fisher should bring out a new detector.2 frequency,5 and 15kz.The processor needs to be as fast as the F75.Same ID numbers, expanded iron range, same discrimination, sensitivity, ground balance/ground tracking.Same size DD coil as standard.Optional coils 6.5 inch concentric coil and a 15 inch DD coil for the beach, fields and Tom D's back yard.Keep the weight and balance as close to the F75 as possible.I'd pay $1400.00 for one.I'd buy 2 right off the bat.The T.D. stands for "Tom Dankowski".Come on Fisher lets get the designers working on this.We don't need color displays,USB ports or wireless headphones.Bill

How about Nitrous oxide? Here's a question for y'all:

What minimum amount of battery life (time) would you accept in a machine that blows everything currently available out of the water?? On AA batteries.

Hi Jackpine,

Your question below...

"What minimum amount of battery life (time) would you accept in a machine that blows everything currently available out of the water?? On AA batteries."

As an absolute minimum, how about 4 hours on 8 "AA" batteries? That would not be my preference, but for better results...especially depth...that's it.

Doubtless Kickback, DJ and staff are working on it. If the future flagship model is to be another "general purpose" unit...that necessarily includes prospecting capability, there are a number of suggestions in that area that could be incorporated. Some suggestions might include:

(a) In addition to the current ground balance options, autotracking with a manually adjustable offset capability, at least 5 full units either side of true ground balance. The reasons for GB offset include enhancement of fringe targets detection, and a measure of control over positive hot rocks close to true GB, while having the convenience of worry-free ground tracking.

We all know the benefit of maintaining precise ground balance (a) over high mineral ground where the GB “window of tolerance” is greatly reduced compared to lower/moderate mineralizations, and (b) over highly variable ground as is often experienced in mining country...where GB can vary by 15 full units over a few yards.

(b) A true non-motion all-metal calibrated GB hot rock ID/reject function (based on a GB setting, for example, of "45"...) that could be presented in the form of a push button on the meter face of an F75 improvement/update. This feature should not be buried in the menu, because it’s usually needed repeatedly in hot rock areas.

(c) The F-75 all-metal side of the menu should provide a SAT control. If this unit is going to be described as a gold hunter, that feature would be beneficial to control the fast autotune currently on this unit. I believe the current threshold retune rate in motion all-metal mode is too fast for moderate/low mineral soils. This results in unnecessarily “tuning out” tiny targets/fringe targets in spite of lower ground mineral levels…

(d) An operating frequency selection switch or menu option. For the F-75 (or other prospecting model revisions) including an optional higher operating frequency, for example in the 50 kHz range, would be a windfall for nugget hunting. But no higher...or it will struggle even more over high magnetic susceptible mineral ground.

(e) Provide a light intensity control for the F-75’s target meter. It’s a bit too powerful for night hunting, where I cannot always clearly see the coil after looking at the meter, let alone see an approaching varmint.

(f) If the new flagship unit is to be multi-frequency, (a) something similar to the analyze screen on the new Vision/Spectra might be useful for identifying large iron, aside from helping with bottlecap ID. In lieu of that option, perhaps even a frequency colour scheme applied to the VDI numerical readout that indicates which frequency hits hardest would help at least where bottlecaps are concerned.(b) the ability to operate in any individual single frequency is necessary.

(g) Otherwise retain all features currently incorporated on the F-75.

That's it from a general purpose/prospecting perspective. Make no mistake, depth is all important and should be the primary consideration. Certainly there are other improvements that can be made to assist the coin hunters ie faster response/recovery, but some of the above ideas also support coin/relic pursuits.

Jim.
