For one thing its old and another imagine its made to pick up ferrous not non-ferrous along with the weight not applicable to our hobby I would think...all of the old war surplus equipment was heavy and built like a tank.

Never mind that is the warrantee transferable? ;-)

Take the lower rod off the coil and the coil doubles as a drink tray.

I saw one of these on craigs list for $125 bucks about six months ago. Might be a bit overpriced I think!!!
