Question about CZ-3D
April 16, 2010 07:06AM
I am considering the purchase of a CZ-3D but I would like to get one of the older ones. The serial # is 060711xx, is that one of the older ones that can get a clad dime at 12"?

The older 3D that you refer to has a serial number that starts with #1021xxxx and was made in the U.S. at the old FISHER in Los Banos Cal. Not all of them could detect a dime at 12", but most of them could detect alot deeper especially compared to the new FISHERs 3D's.

Thanks. There is one on Ebay that is advertised as a Los Banos CZ but it has a 1121 serial number. Are these good too?

Private message him and ask him to air test a dime in all metal with sensitivity set at 4.5. The test should be done outside. It should test at least 10" if its worth its salt I might be little off on some of these details. A good 1021 gos for around $500 not sure what a 1121 gos for
