A Plea for HELP! Please delete old PMs

Forum Members,

Please delete old Private Messages (PMs) from your PM folders.Currently, there are over 18,000 total PMs in the database. This large amount of old PMs is really bogging down the website server. IF you have read and responded to PMs and no longer have a use for it, please delete them from your folder. Thank you.

Cleared all of mine Wally!!

Wally I cant get to my P.M. folder ..I just get error message..

I have a couple thousand or so in there if I rememebr correctly..

I just cant get to the folder..

Kieth, I think you and Tom have the same problem, you have reached maximum volume of PMs (like your mailbox is full). Would you mind if I deleted about 200 of the oldest from the database?

There's a little tiny check box above all the others you can check and delete all at once Ray

So how do you delete all the messages at once?

I hate to spend 30 minutes clicking on check boxes...I do not see a one box do it all..

I'm glad I got you back on! I go to the Phorum database and delete from the data table. That's how I also do deletions on the forum during 'spam bomb' attacks. To delete from your own PM file, in the header at the top of the messages to the left their is a square box next the word 'Subject', clicking (checking) that box puts a check mark in all visible messages, so I think you can delete about 30 at a time. Once all the message are checked, you can then individually uncheck the ones you might want to keep.

I went ahead and copied and saved the ones I wanted to my computer....

I then cleaned it out...

but it still shows Im 10% full..but my box is empty..

I just deleted mine too (I didn't have much) but I had to go to my "sent PM's" folder and de;ete them too. Might want to give it a try.

Didn't have many but they are now deleted.
