Xp Deus earned its keep

Went on a hunt today with a friend. A new site to me--- small.
Dug a few wheats with 11" coil, area was pretty trashy, so went the 9" coil route. Dug a few more wheats, and a clad dime or 2.
Then I get this signal--- not overly strong, read .97 on the meter, and pinpointed very tight.
Out pops this Liberty half dollar from 6-7".
A first for me.
And check out the penny, it is stamped with some sort of symbol. Any ideas???
My friend thought it was a symbol associated with the Mason's.

Great Hunt! I recently found one of those pennies in a schoolyard--forgot what the date was or if it could even be seen--and yes, that's a Masonic emblem. It would be interesting to know how many of them were made.

Nice Liberty Half. The symbol on the penny is Masonic, compass and square.

Maybe I should tell the rest of the story.

Notice I didn't find any additional silver.

I believe this site was cherry picked with explorer/ etrac by someone experienced.

I say this because this half dollar--- invisible to me with Deus in 12 kHz reactivity 2, but when I went back through the small spot reactivity 3 hit the coin--- and not the strongest signal either.

I suspect masking going on. I think it most likely most of the time, if it takes 3 reactivity in 12 or 18 kHz to get tone on a target--- Minelab likely won't any settings.

Great job David. Love finding big silver.

I do too. Only one problem, it"s hard to find around here. Those bigger bigger coins don't hide so well. So over the years they've been picked up even by the less performing detectors.
