The lead piece, that looks kind of like a banner, and that has IOWA written on it, is an interesting piece. My first Calvary button (with some gilting and some signs of pesticides eating it up. A button back. And a smaller, vest-sized, general service button. A 54 cal Minie bullet. And two small pieces of brass that I am always finding here (and at other campsites) that look like percussion caps with the little flanges missing, although I doubt that they are percussion caps. Still haven't got that one figured out. Also, I found a piece of black/brown glass in the campsite. Probably the closest that I'll ever come to digging out a nice whisky bottle from a pit. And a couple of buck balls. (???) Anyway, had a great afternoon with my hunting buddy yesterday.
