As I stated previously, I don't know what all of his settings were, but I'm positive he had it in Field2; I swung it some myself and looked at the display.
I'm really glad to hear your positive reports on the Equinox, as I am thinking of picking one up later. The weight of the E-Trac is tough on longer hunts, as most people know.

tnsharpshooter: I'm positive that we both swung over the coin from the same direction. I'm not sure if he swung the Equinox from the opposite direction, as well.

Thanks to everyone for each of their comments!
tnsharpshooter: Appreciate the time you took to perform the revealing tests with the Equinox and E-Trac. I've run my E-Trac over this same area several times recently, and obviously never dug the quarter; probably rang-up as a junk target as your tests seemed to show. I do wonder if Minelab is aware of this apparent Equinox weakness. I pla

I first want to say that I read the Dankowski board often, but rarely post. I also appreciate the seasoned and talented posters who participate and have learned much from them.
I'm a Minelab guy, having used and loved my E-Trac for several years. Two days ago I accompanied a buddy, who had just received his new Equinox 800, to a local park that until about 30 years ago had been a Boy Sco

Keith,
That sounds like a subtle hint to me.
But I'm sure you can't spill the beans just yet.

tnss,
Yes, I've considered this, since I've seen recent speculation about a new model from FT.
Does anyone have more news about any new models around the corner??

Thanks everyone for the great replies and helpful suggestions!
This is going to be a really tough decision, as I would also like to hunt coins as well. I have been using an E-Trac as my primary coin machine, but the weight has recently begun to give me some pain in my back, thus I'm afraid I need a lighter machine. The F75 could fill the bill for both coins and relics, but I fear I'

I have primarily been a coin hunter until now, but want to do more relic hunting going forward. I've noticed the great prices on the T2 Classic and F75 Gold models and am trying to decide between them.
My primary questions for those who have used both detectors:
1) Considering that these two detectors are "cousins" sharing a similar platform, is there any significant diff

Again, thanks for all the nice comments on our hunt.
Just wanted to add that about 2 nights before the hunt, I dreamed that I was digging coins that were stacked as if still in wrappers (admit it, I'm sure most of you have similar dreams from time to time!). I remembered the dream as we were digging the coins two days later, but this time I was living the dream in real time!

Great story!
I'm familiar with Frankie Laine's name, but didn't know about the coins.
My grandfather would give my brother and me a silver dollar each Christmas, up until I was about 13 years old. I still have all of mine.
Yeah, Champ, I put baseball cards on my bike spokes, too!

Thanks, everybody. It was a real blast of a hunt, even if not a huge amount of value involved!
NASA Tom,
Yeah, what is it I remember about 1976??...Oh, yeah...Jimmy Carter elected that year!
I suppose that would have been a good reason to bury your money out in the yard!

This happened a week ago (and already posted to another board), but I thought it also might be of some interest to this board.
A friend called me late Friday (a week ago) and asked if I could come to a lot where a teardown had occurred. It was known that a previous owner had buried money on the site, and dirt was already being hauled in for a new construction project at the site. A dozer had

56, retired 2 years ago (looks like I'm avg. age for the board). Started detecting ~1978 with a Whites Coinmaster (still have it in my closet). In and out of detecting over the years, but starting this year am back in whole hog. Am really enjoying the hobby, and had done a lot of detecting up until the temps started hitting 98 everyday 3 weeks ago, and the rain stopped. Am now compiling

I am selling my CZ-6a that I purchased several months ago from another Dankowski board member. This is a unit that Tom tuned on Sept. 26, 2014, and certifies to hit a dime at 11.3 inches. It has been tuned to give a high nickel tone just like a CZ-3D. Unit is serial #42551.
Package also includes:
- 8.0 inch coil
- 10.5 inch coil
- 5.0 inch coil
- original hard case (also orig
