I remember when something very similar happened to me !!.....It was a real WTF moment !!......I was shaking my head for a while afterwords and trying to trace back in my head how many times this had happened to me in the past .......I know you won't make the same mistake again !!......I know I haven't !!......JIm

When running ML Sovereigns , I took Critters advise and went the Lipo route and never looked back ........They are light weight , powerfull , quick to charge , and inexpensive if bought thru Hobby King as he mentions ....A little adapting is involved but nothing major .....Make sure you read up on all the warnings of using Lipos as Critter also mentions ...... Used with care , they are the cat

The fact of the matter is that the ETrac reports a MUCH WIDER VDI range than the Sovereign ....... Just because there are individual pixels does not mean that you have to block them out ....You can choose to block out what you want to ..... Many times pixels in the same area are also openned \up to allow for various angles that the target may be sitting ..... and there are more ways to check

That particular day was in fact on the beach .....My partner and I had just spent a good 7 hrs in the park digging hard soil ......We then went to the beach for another 6 hrs ....I did not have my beach scoop with me and borrowed my buddies vacation scoop which was a tiny scoop that took time to dig down 6 inchee and more ......I was EXHAUSTED ......He had the bigger scoop with him ....... I can only imagine how long it took toe compile this kind of data .....I too would like to see the chart that corresponds to the numbers on the graph ........ This graph surely show's us all , but especially those who are on the fence about an ETrac , just how finute each target can be represented ....... and how they can also be blocked OUT of the picture if you don't care to see

My BIGGEST mistake in detecting was to give up on digging pull tabs one day .....I must have dug 200 pull tabs and all at the same VID ..... I was exhausted from digging and on the way to the car as I was getting off the beach , I hit another PULL TAB TONE !!.....I sad " screw this ....I'm tired and I'm going to the car " ........My partner said " What was it "

I will attack Parks and smaller plots of land from multi angles, especially if I already pulled Silver or Gold from these area's .......I will hunt a beach much differently as you need to move fast , and cover certain area's FAST as the competition is fierce !!.....Jim

My guess would be that you overwhelmed the AT Pro ......The AT Pro is GB'd with the dirt in the cube , and then you scan over the cube that is laying on different dirt altogether ....Now you are scanning over 2 different types of dirt with different GB values .....GB in the dirt that is in the iron free area ........Dig a 6 inch hole , and drop the coin down and cover it .....Try fiinding i

I spend more time at the beach finding my treasure ....I find on most all of my machines that once I get past a certain depth on each machine ( they're all different ) not only the VDI numbers change , but the tone changes sometimes drastically ........For example , when hunting for Gold, once down in the deeper range , I will actually get a "HIGH" tone , whereyby at a 6 inch dept

" I hunt with a CZ3D owner and I do not care what any one says about the Etrac being a Silver Magnet I doubt it has anything over him and his CZ. We where out this morning for a couple hours and he was sucking the silver out of the ground - 3 Merc and one Silver Rosey. His first silver I checked with my GT and all I got was iron null. It was about 8 inches down."

I found that I could go all day with any of the 12" coils that were made for the Sovereign and got plenty of coverage , and plenty of depth .....I used my own version of the Swingy Thingy ....I call it " Swing This "...........Some of the 12" coils will give you pretty darn close to the depth of the 15" coils out there ..... The Sunray 12" coil is a BIG 12 ......

I can bring the ETrac for hunting in the trash.......A CZ-6a that works great for DEEEEP gold hunting on the beach ......I can also bring a Sovereign XS.......and I will also bring an AT Pro for giggles !!...... I'm pretty interested in the Deus and the Blisstool ........ Even though the Soveriegns discriminate iron on their own , I want to see the look on Critters face when he hit's

"Critterhunter - where do you live? If close enough, why don't you take a ride to NY and try the Blisstool. Then you can pontificate about a machine you at least got a chance to use - good or bad. I mean you're not working right now - so you have the time... "

Remembering back when the SEF coils were hitting the scene , the 10 x 12 and the 12 x 15 were used a lot .....One attribute that the SEF coils were known for was that they were GREAT coils for finding coins that were on end as their ability to read targets horizontally was quite good !!..... I don't know enough about the newer coils that are on the 3030 to make any judgement call , but I ,

When watching video's whereby Black Sand ( high iron content ) was a non issue , and when you can still find good targets that are down 12 inches in bad soil with the sensitivity set on " 2 " , I knew this was a machine could really learn to like ..... I would rather have TOO MUCH power , than not enougth ...... I can only imagine what a machine like this would do down by Tom in Fl

I too LOVE the tones on the Sovereign .....I use to call them "Sexy " ...... The Sovereign is a great machine for what it does it does well and in reality, you can find a BUNCH of good targets with it ....I've owned just about every model Sovereign and they all work well but was partial to the GT ..... The unfortunate part of having an automatic iron discriminator is that if the

> detector will find them. JMHO. "
I've seen this happen when there was iron masking a Barber dime .......The Soveriegn could not read either one .......My buddy's ETrac was the detector that could read both due to the extended range that it was able to read ....iron as well as Silver at the same time .. ..... It was clear as

"The company (Minelab) should make their machine/headphone-socket work with others headphones, not the other way around. "

Remember too that there are other issues out there that are just as important as depth ......As powerful as the E Trac is , using too many filters will spoil and otherwise good hunt too, much like Keith was talking about with the sun glasses ....I tend to think of it like running a car in the Summer time .....Runs great until you turn on the air conditioner ......The motor bogs down and you need

My reasoning behind using a Pulse machine would be twofold ....One would be depth , and the other would be adversity to salt and mineralization ......It handles one out of the two ......works well on descriminaton , but no real depth ....Still a step in the right direction .......Jim

The only limit I will put on spending is all dependant on how much said machine can do for me, and what kind of return can I get on my money from the targets I find There are too many features on this machine that I could care less about .....Nice ? ...Sure ? .....Worth the extra $$ to me ? ....NO !!.......Color ? ....Don't need it ......GPS? ....Got one already .......Wireless ? ....I
