The Tarsacci does things in iron and bad dirt combined that a good unmasker VLF does in good dirt and iron.
I've hunted good dirt sites with Vlfs in the low country for years and down there a VLF is Nirvana.I even had a couple of 50+ Military buttons a weekend trips on some camps. But come up to my area and bad dirt and iron are a double whammy.
Up here in bad soil and bad dirt that

I would think of the lite foil and small gold report more like on a P.I. more than phase shift VLF.
you can get lite foil weaker with delay and still hear gold that can HANG on with slightly longer decay rate.
this is where the Tarsacci could see some gold better than a VLF that has to use phase shift.
the ID numbers on Tarsacci seems it sees more dense metal in the bottom end VS a VLF t

Dew I think it still works but its not needed if your in Soil.If your in Salt water and ground balance is below 600 I could only surmise you still need it on to smooth up the over abundance of salt.
less than 600 GB soil inland would be more benign and probably see no benefit of the Salt being on.

At Doctor last time I was coming in at 6'1.5".And I cant extend the Tarsacci all the way out I'm back two notches on holes.I would think a 6'4" or more can use it comfortably.

Hey Harold it is Modulated its more like stronger in the first 8 or so inches on say a dime then after that it starts to modulate on down.
when its in the strong area the ID is very accurate especially on base metals once it hits the modulated area the ID may move around some also and these are really worth investigating.
One unique thing on the Tarsacci is small stuff reads low numbers

In Trash think Standard CZ type 3-toneshunt style.
Yet you do have the option on MDT to notch say pulltabs .
Lite foil like Aaron has shown can be removed with salinity if you after small gold Jewelry that reads same as the foil.
You'll probably never encounter whole sheets of aluminum foil. The video was to show what it can do that's really amazing..The way it can KNOW somethi

I posted this in the MDT thread but some may not browse that thread.
So I'll drop it here also.
Quarter under a sheet of aluminum foil.
Tarsacci has the foil I.D .number Notched out which is about 6-7 ID..
Note the Safari is for demonstrative purposes only.

If you choose to hear Coke it reads about 2 top of ground or deeper..
BUT if you choose to neutralize the coke. Then that is now doing see through and you wont know its there. still dig #2 I.D. targets to liking but not the coke.even under and or around the coke.
The EQ Is still a VLF detector. The Tarsacci is not doing things like a VLF, its doing things in time domain.

How about get a machine that can Neutralize coke.Yet see through it??
That is you dont hear them but the targets that read the same as them are still heard?Even under the said Coke and or even hot rocks.
A machine reporting coke and or hot rocks or cancelling hot rocks misses the targets that read the same as the coke and or hot rock. But not a machine neutralizing through time delays.

Tom- glad to be of help.!!!
Ozzie-Thanks for the gratitude!!My reward in detecting is helping others plain and simple and others helping me!I like seeing people happy with their equipment and I like being happy with my equipment.Confidence goes along ways with a new unit.Aaron has some nice videos up on his dedicated Tarsacci forum that may get you up to speed too or anyone else. like you alre

Ozzie what I do in iron to get some better unmasking that works for me is what I call desensitizing (for lack of better word) the iron somewhat.
You cant Salt balance to iron not even a nail in a way like you balance to the soil.Iron being a solid metallic object. But you can desensitize it some.
Say your on 18Khz ground balanced.Set to disc -30 Sweep around and Find some iron in the site li

Dew Yes those are rusted nails.
Things to point out in the video.Thats not a dime or copper penny.I wanted to make the test really grab attention so I used a small token that only reads a 9 on Tarsacci.
The other thing is that's a large coil and its seeing 3 other nails at same time under coil in snapshot.
Another thing is thats all stock tone breaks.no tone moving etc.
So three

Very good Magus!!
Quite impressive.I think it shows that the Tarsacci is using advanced technology.
We have moved forward in mineral and wet sand punch !!
We are seeing Pulse depth and punch with accurate ID.Hows this possible?

Tarsacci 8000 Stock coil.
Deeper than a VLF in my dirt.
Digs a whole lot less iron falses too.
Unmask very very very well when set right. And this is with stock coil

Little video I did of the Tarsacci on the nail board test.I am using a small token that reads about 8 on the tarsacci.
I'm using the salinity balance to slightly desensitize the iron!!!!!!

Two of my best Multi-Thousand dollar finds each was with Whites machines.
One dug behind a explorer between dig holes.
Other piece in a well worked site full of dense big iron.
And uncountable other relics Buttons bullets silver coins was with Whites units over the years..
Yeah they work.
