I'm with you Keith! I can't believe they don't build one like that for their home country! And especailly with the 2 tone I.D.. Man what are they thinking?

Now that is the E-trac I am talking about! Way to go Daniel nice finds. Any day you find silver nowadays is a good day and 3 is a great day in my book. I think even more than depth the thing the E-trac shines at the most is finding silver coins in trash. I have had mine since one month after they came out and have not found a detector as good at that. Now don't get me wrong like I said befor

I will say one thing you sure do have some hot ground down there. In my ground my E-trac at auto+3 runs at 26 sens. I always heard the coinstrike was a underated machine. Maybe it is mors suited as a relic hunter than a coinhunter as it has a reputation for loving steel bottle caps. One thing the E-trac ignores and find silver coins in the same hole with.

The x-8 is an awesome coil also. It is almost as deep as the pro-coil but alot lighter and better seperation in trash. I probally use that coil 80% of the time. What you said about learning the tones and what they are telling you is key to all minelab machines in my opinoin. You can't buy one use it for a couple weeks and say it isn't as good as advertised. If you take the time to learn

I tell you what if you guys don't believe me go to the Findmall forum and look at the latest video put up by Ray ,MO. and look at the depth and I.D. hes is getting on a whole bunch of seateds he dug. And ask him about I.D. at depth with the E-trac! He is one of the Guru's with the E-trac. I'm kind of suprised not more E-trac/Explorer users on this forum aren't agreeing with me

I would also like to add that at extreme depth your not getting the classic Minelab silver warble,on the E-trac your getting a clipped or reapeatable clicking sound as I call it. But the I.D. numbers are fairly consitant maybe dropping a point or two. But you can still tell the difference between dime, quarter, and half once you get use to that type of tone.

Daniel I think either your ground is super hot or you got a lemon for an E-trac or both. My ground is moderate I have I.D. dimes, quarters and one half at 12'' maybe a hair less,But not much. I'm sure there is alot of E-trac/Explorer users on this forum who can back me up. This is also not with the stock coins pattern it is with a more open screen like the one Andy Sabisch suggests

I was wondering are you running manual sens. with the x-5 coil? If so where do you run it? I always run mine at auto +3, But would mind a liitle more depth to make it more laser like.

It is one of the few hobbys that actually pay for itself in time. I get a kick out of friends and relatives who are shocked when I tell them one of my detectors cost over a 1,000.00. And they look at me like I'm crazy and say that much! But then you look at there hobbys like riding around on 20,000.00 Harleys or 10,000.00 four wheelers that you put money into that you don't get out. Or

Finally got it off! I had to alternate between warm water soak and taping lightly with a hammer and screw driver covered with a rag. As I suspected it was full of sand. I hate sand thats why I don't beach hunt ,But that is another story. Now it is ready for Tom to do his magic. Thats to all for your reply's!

I know a lot of people don't believe in them. But I always like them as a just in case. But a easy one to get off as the Fisher one is too tough. And the main problem with this one is the guy was a beach hunter and the liitle grains of sand have wedged between the cover and coil.

I know what you mean as I have had my share of detectors over the years and the original Fisher CZ coils are the most stuborn! Once I get if off I will put the treasure wise cover on like on my other CZ. It is lighter and way easy to get off like the E-trac pro coil cover. I will try the warm water soak Thanks.

I need to remove my coil cover and the previous owner was a beach hunter as there is sand wedged in between the coil and cover making it extremely diificult to remove. Anybody have any tip's on how to remove with out damaging the coil? Thanks for any and all reply's. And this is a CZ -8" coil and cover I'm talking about.

I rememeber when I first got mine it seemed to false a little more than I remember in really wet ground. But now I don't seem to notice so maybe I just got used to it? Now it seems to me to be rock solid and stable as any detector I have owned. Maybe a bad Minelab day as I know CZ's can do that also. I don't care how long you have used a CZ it just sometimes seems to have those day

There is a nice one on the Bay Sonny. It looks like brand new. But you better be ready to break out the cash as it is already over 500.00!

Sorry but I have to disagree with you Dan,Dan as I had a CZ-70 pro that I could only run the sens. at 4 and would only hit a dime silver or clad at 8.5''. Would easily hit it at 10'' with the sens. set at 6.But was unstable. And in ground would struggle with dimes at 8''+ or on edge with the sens.at 4. Where my buddy's CZ-7a pro would hit silver easily as 10

I have often wondered that myself? Sounds like a good question for Tom. Maybe because it is more handy to have around? But then again the CZ-3D is usally bought by guys who have been detecting awhile or addicts like us who always have a few silvers lying around.

That is a First Texas CZ-3D as he posted that on the Findmall forum. It still gave enough of a high tone bounce to dig. That is what I love about CZ-3D's and will always have one in my arsenal!

Hey sonny where did you have your sens. set at when you tested the dime and nickel? Some you can run at 6 some not. That is why I'm very leary about CZ-70 pro's. I think the older model cz-7a pro models and digitals are a little hotter as all I have seen can be run to 6-8 sens. no problem.

I don't know on all CZ-3D's,But mine will up the average on higher conducter coins like the copper and silver. But lower the average on nickels the deeper it gets in air test. As far as nickel depth next to a CZ the E-trac is probally one of the best older nickel machines out there. You just have to run a more open screen than stock like the one Andy Sabisch suggest's in his book.M
