Hey Keith-----Send one of them to Tom for testing!------We COMPLETELY trust your tests but it would be GREAT to have two experts (you & Tom) both testing the "latest out" AT PRO's----------Del.

I don't have one---they are on pre-order status & I haven't ordered one.----Just seen a picture & a little info on them.----It's a white coil, comes with coil cove

That's the new coil FT is coming out with that I posted about some time back.----When I posted, they told us about two weeks---it took considerably longer than that---but----here it is.------I was also told that it would just be for the T2 but they got one for the F-75 as well.-----Kind of expensive--listed at $249----and kind of heavy (compared to the 11" DD biaxial stock coil).----Lis

There certainly is a bunch of knowledgable guys on this forum.-----I really appreciate your expertise & input from the various members here.----It's a nice, courteous forum to be a member of and I am enjoying my time (and learning) on this forum.-----Anybody else feel the same way?-----I'm still learning--I'm 72 yrs. old and bought my first detector back in 1975---maybe if I &q

Tom-----As I understand it, you have tested both the (earlier) AT PRO and the G2.-----Which of those two detectors did you see as giving the best depth? (all things being equal as possible).----------Thanks, Del

I appreciate the statement (finally) coming from Garrett-----but, it's sounds like a little bit of "passing the buck".------Those units were/are "problem units"--not "problem detectorists".------Remember what Harry Truman used to say?--"the buck stops here"------It would be really nice if SO MANY of these manufacturers would adapt that same stance (esp

As a kid in high school & working in a gas station, we used to sell gas for 27 cents a gallon.---Then we had our "gas wars", it got cheap then! (at least for a short time) grin---------Later on, I can still remember saying "if gas hits 75 cents--I'm buying a horse"!---Look at us now!!!------If/when gas hits $5 PLUS per gallon, there's going to be a WHOLE LOT of &

Well, I'm sure Garrett AT PRO sales will really "pick up" this spring & summer, now that this problem has been addressed.---The sales on the AT PRO must have slowed (and rightly so) with a problem on the units revealed.----Instead of just keeping right on "cranking out" detectors with an issue.-------I just hope the ones that are already out there "get taken care

Well, let's put it this way----Garrett is now HEADING in the right direction of doing the right thing.----New production units, yes--problem is "apparently" solved in that regard.----Time will tell, as more newly released units come to market.-------But again, what about ALL those early machines that are out there?---Seems to me that if Garrett was completely doing the right thing,

LAF-----That's a good one TerraDigger---you may be right!------If we didn't have guys like Tom, Jim, Keith (and a few others), we'd still be pretty much "in the dark" on this AT Pro thing though.------I was just about about to post this info. that this gentleman posted.-----It's on "the other forum"----titled "Falsing or not" (scroll down) for thi

Yes, "silence is golden" (normally) --but-------It seems to me that if Garrett would just make a public statement on this issue it would actually help sales. (rather than just "fixing" the problem as the detectors/coils trickle in).----If they would make a statement of what to look for/test to existing AT PRO owners & inform them to send them in if they didn't "p

I still think it would be really great if there was a way to determine exactly what the issue was/is on the AT PRO coils (if in fact the issue WAS the coils & it appears to be).---A way to check out both the earlier AND newest out coils (other than just by testing them--so the real underlying problem could be determined).-------Questions--(bear with me). grin--------(1) Could the problem be i

or admit it-----there needs to be a couple of those coils "dissected" (from the erratic AND quiet) AT PROS.-----To see if the shield paint was/is the "culprit", as Tom suspected.------Wanna donate your good one for this project Keith??? HA HA ----------Del

Seems to me that buying that detector (AT PRO) is risky business.-----Good question Sonny had----how do you know which one you are getting? (what with the reported problems with the earlier ones).---Especially if you are buying it & having it shipped to you & can't check it out first.

Oh yeah, "noticed" that several times when digging a coin.----Especially when they make their presence known thru stinging--look down & they're all over my shoes & pants legs.----On those occassions I didn't dig right into their nest to notice them but they were sure in the immediate area & "noticed" me.
