I've dug a 1793 chain cent in my quest guys & that's like Kieth said a quest. I look at it as a hobby nothing more. I live in south central PA. There's nothing but old history here & that's what I'm after with my detectors. Now I've never sold a thing. I hord my finds. I have thousands of civil war relics in my collection. Mostly from the Gettysburg campaign.

Sorry buddy. I wasn't trying to make you mad. I just said I know how to ground ballence it. I didn't mean to insult you. Thanks for trying to help me. If I came off as a smart ass I didn't mean it that way. Tim

The problem is I didn't dig anything deeper than 5"-6". I was expecting to dig deep iron or something. All I dug were little pieces of bolt heads. I did dig one shot gun hull. A couple of .22 bullets & some cut nails. No depth. I'm wondering if I should send it in for a checkup? No depth?????

I followed the ground balancing instructions. Pulse delay at 10 GB on conductivity to all. I had to set the threshold pretty high to get it smooth. I think the ground balance was around 7-8. I didn't dig anything deep. I played with it & no deeper. Anyway I'm asking if it sounds like its working properly. If not I'll send it in for a check up. Thanks Tim

I'm having trouble with depth. I just got it yesterday. Ive read the manual several times cover to cover. I set it up last night on my back porch & dig some air tests. It sung out on a .69" minie at 12". Is that par? I had iron & all sorts of relics out. It hit on them all. I took it out today & didn't dig anything over 6". Do you think its been messed with or

I read over on friendly metal detecting forum that AKA has been devoping a true dual frequency detector. They claim ground minerals don't effect depth or ID's. Just wondering if anyone has heard of this. They said it'll retail @$12000.00. WOW. That's a bunch of ching.

Well I can tell you this there as deep as anything I've ever used. That being said you will dig deep cut nails while hunting for civil war relics.

I use a G2. Its handled all of the spots I hunt. Most of the civil war spots I have are loaded with deteriorated iron & cut nails. I can hear it but don't dig it. I like it better than my T2se. Now I do use the T2se for coin hunting. It gets the nod there. I just got a F19 & haven't had a chance to use it because of the ground being frozen. Soon though it'll be time. That r

I have a concealed carriers permit & don't carry a gun when digging. I figure if I can't defend myself with the entrenching shovel I can't with a gun. But I have the option.

I really don't like talking out of my butt that's why I reread the article on fishers web page.

Dave J said the transmit power is at max now. You would need 100Ă—the battery power to increase it. Its not simple. Big engineers have tryed to solve this problem. Look at some of his essays on the fisher web page.

The g2 is so quiet. It doesn't respond to anything but a target under it. That's what I love about that machine. Now it does false occasionally when there's clay under the brown dirt. I really don't know how to explain it or other than that. Gost holes. When your after deepies.

Oh ok I usually turn my phone off when I'm digging. I've noticed the if I run my phone by the control housing on my G2 it makes it act up & chatter. Thanks Tim

I just got a F19 & haven't used it yet. My go to detector has been the G2. I've done great with it recently & look forward to trying the F19 out. The G2 is the best relic machine I've ever used. The only time it has given me trouble was at a spot that was surrounded by weed burning electric fences. That's it. Love the G2. Really looking forward to using the F19. HH TIM
