The majority of UK digs are dominated predominately by the Equinox,Deus comes 2nd although the Deus held the No1 crown for many years.........one brand you rarely see these days are Garrett the most popular model within than brand must the ACE25 but rarely the AT Pro or variations as the Equinox and the Deus must account for 85% of detector sales.

I use both the Nexus standard SE with the dual 9'' coil and the Nexus MP with 4 coils from the 8x6,10'',13'' DD coils and the 11'' Concentric, not the easiest machines to master especially the MP but after 3-4 years one has finally mastered both of them, never air test with them anyway as i cannot see the logic behind that test, but they are very very deep mac

Notching is predominately a US thing,i guess the main reason is that 'almost' all the US coinage is a standard weight and metal content so its pretty consistent,so it would be easier to be accurate by using the notching facility are on most US made detectors, but here in the UK our coinage which of course can go back a long way the contents of our hammered coinage this can be gold/silver

FM was at one time reasonable forum, but in recent years has deleted alot of the main specific model posts due to the main Brands stop sponsoring,so all the topic that i had posting on over the years have been deleted.
Dont post alot on forums in general these days and if i want some specific detecting information then FB usually has a specific section.
In general a massive decline in forum

My faithful old T2 has come out of retirement and taken back the crown as my main everyday machine,DFX has also come out and dusted off and the Deus has been relegated to 3rd position and Equinox to 4th position..........both the T2 and DFX may be old technology but these 2 machines have found me more UK gold coins and Silver hammered coins consistently than all my other machines and trust me i o

In this forum header it mentions it being found by a Deus, but in the article image it is showing him using a Equinox,i always chuckle when i read these types of news media articles especially the some times crazy high valuations athat are put on these hoards, some do achieve some decent valuations but many or for the most part never achieve any of these figures.
Of course its a stunning find an

@ Tom-D,in your suggested settings for silver coinage you suggested Park1 with some tweaks,my specific question is more aimed at the UK silver/gold hammered coinage which are usually thin etc, would i be right in saying that Park2 with the higher freq bias would be a slight advantage for our hammered coins or do you still reckon Park 1 is the best option,i had been using Field 1 since i bought the

Some amazing finds,i am using a similar setup as yourself but instead of Park 1 i am using Park 2 mainly because my targets are silver and gold hammered coins, just feel that Park 2 would be slightly more biased towards my targets. One thing i dont use is 50 tones as it just a little too much audio overload for me,so settled on 5 tones and in some cases when i just want a nice few hours detecting i

A very good video,i have been using Field 1 for about 4 months and it worked reasonably well on silver hammered coins, but in this last week have started using Park 1 but have finally finished up using Park 2 which has the higher khz bias and i feel this will work much better for my reasonable low mineral sites and especially hunting for silver and gold hammered coinage and also jewellery as well.

Thats a rather nice cut 1/4 was that with the stock coil or one of the others ?? not sure why but not as yet taken with the stock coil i have mainly been using the 6'' for about 90% of the time and occasionally with the 15'' coil.

A friend of mine also had water ingress while he was on holiday in Croatia only just a few weeks back,he did have a backup i think it was a SeaHunter which saved the day.....when he arrived back in the UK the control box was replaced for a brand new one within days, this current one is waterproof as its had the cold water bath 24hr test and it did pass, but to be on the safe side he has had too buy

I still own a old Musky but its not been used for many years and the main reason that i use more modern machines is the weight advantage and that is a major factor on what machines and coils i buy these days, right wrist took full impact on 2 motor cycle accidents in the 70s and 80s and is causing me great grief these days.So one would in theory suggest using my decent left wrist but it makes no o

About 5 years back i bought a Compadre control box that had been converted to take 5 pin coils rather than being hardwired, only paid i think £30 for it,and for the most part i do carry it in my boot (trunk) with a old shaft that i had laying around. And a shart handle spade as well as a 'el-cheapo' GP pinpointer that i also paid peanuts for. This is usually carried in the car all year rou

I would tend too agree with you on that statement,i use both a Nexus MP with a selection of coils and also a Nexus Standard SE with the dual 9'' coil, both deep and certainly more than enough depth for me and also still dec

A nice find for sure, but they seem to contradict themselves in the article as the header mentions 'Thousands of 17th century silver coins found buried in Teutonic Knights’ church' but in the actual article it mentions 'when they discovered a glazed ceramic mug handle filled with nearly 1,000 coins' thousand of coins and nearly a 1000 coins are vastly different.

In a situation like what you have mentioned, when i detect on some really trash roman sites then still my all time favourite combination is a my T2 and the 5'' coil, you can still get some amazing depth with that combination and target separation is outstanding.Surprisingly enough i also run it in AM mode as well, but for extreme roman hob nails that can litter the ground then i can someti

The 8'' coil is pretty decent, but my favourite one is the 10.5'' white polo coil which is getting pretty rerae to find these days,i found brand new one maybe 2 years ago and bought for the price of a total beat up one, could sell it and make a decent profit but this one will be a keeper on my Laser B1 and B3.The 10.5'' coil is still the same sensitivity as the 8'
