sanjuro , no the nail is directly on the button at 8 inchs. I'm very aware of the weakness of detectors once the iron gets 3 or 4 inchs above. From the video the nail looked close to the coin but we will never know..

I have to disagree with that... I have a 8 inch flat button with a rusted nail on top and detectors will hit it just fine one way though.. turn the other way and nail hits...

Just a little touchy been watching the back and forths over the Nox on the different forums....Its a good detector from what I can tell so far with good performance. For 899.00 its a great deal. The Deus has more tonal nuance though and it will take some time to see how that affects performance for relics...Bill long Wrote:

BTW there was a time when those 8 to 20 yr old detectors you guys are using were new tech too I bet there were ole timers saying the same thing then too... To think only GREAT detectors were made back in the day is a error in my book. Are we to believe companies cant develop new and better machines. I bet some guys are using detectors made before the IPHONE hit the market and that's fine.

It better be good in iron George cause this thing is.........Deus good in iron. Will take some getting used to because the tones don't pop out like the Deus . They are more mellow but it can see non ferrous in iron very well with the 11 inch coil. I cant wait to see the 6 inch coil.

I saw the thread about the F75 and the Equinox and some were saying that its not a deep machine... Is the Equinox a deep machine? We know its fast and can pull targets from the iron in the same league as the Deus. Is the NOX a deep machine too? I sot a video in my garden where I test it with different recovery speeds.....EQUINOX DEPTH

After much hunting in thick iron and thousand upon thousands of targets dug from it. I just put my remote in my pocket and don't pay any attention to numbers they are useless in that situation most of the time. If the site has given up something good I go into that digging every beep ,pop , and creak signal I can find after the goods one are gone. I cant tell you how many junk signals have
