Olive oil isn't supposed to clean the coin. It just softens the verdigris coating (copperouis oxcide) on the coin making it easier to remove. The best tool is a stick of spaghetti but a tooth pick will also work. If the coin has no coating then you don't need the oil.

I would say for twentieth century silver, circulation lasted about 30 years or more but everything changed in the 1960's when they invented clad.

I've had similar things happen with the Gold that are just like you describe. It doesn't happen often enough for me to complain but there have been a few times where you get a good signal, take a few digs and all you get after that are low or mixed tones or sometimes it disappears completely and I've had to give up. I've noticed that .22 shells often sound worse and are hard t

Yeah, Kellyco will do the price match garrantee.
I called them on that once and got a Gold Bug Pro for under $500.
All you have to do is find a dealer that sells for less than they do and they'll better it.

Try a ziploc storage bag.
You could even wrap it in celophane first, then put it in the sealed bag squeezing out as much air as possible. Wrap some tape around it and mark where the button is if you can't see it. That should seal it up pretty well.

The main reason I sometimes buy a new detector or coil is if I think it will detect targets that my other detectors can't.
If it can't do that, I sell it.
No one detector does it all. There are multi frequencies, single frequencies, high frequencies and coils of many sizes and shapes. They each have unique abilities.

I was about to do some depth tests. I went to change the batteries in my Cz20 and while doing that, the red wire seperated from the snap-on connector.
The connector piece is riveted together. I might have to drill out the rivet. I'll set it aside and think about it.
Is there a quiker/easier fix? Has anyone done this before? Would Radio Shack have a better one of these connectors that

I certainly wouldn't doubt your knowledge. Maybe there is something wrong with mine or maybe our soil is different up here. Steve lives about 50 miles from me so we have about the same ground conditi

Steve, the CZ20 sucks on land because it's always in salt mode. Don't expect anything close to the depth you get at the beach. You won't get any of those low tone wispers like you normally get when beach hunting. Do some comparitive depth tests and see for yourself.
You'd be much better off land hunting with your XLT. Didn't you say you had an AT Pro also?
The CZ20

Very good observation. I will have to try that with my Gold Bug Pro tomorrow.
I have the 5" x 10" coil also. I was wondering, what is the purpose of the six foot cable on the 5" x 10"? I've never seen any other coils with a cable that long.

He pronouces it Caped instead of Capped. It just shows how out of touch he is with the world of numismatics.
He goes detecting, finds coins, looks them up in his book and for him, that's the extent of the hobby.
I think this kind of thing happens all too often. If it weren't for his video, we'd never know.

I'm liking my Vista Gold. After just a few hunts it has shown me that it's better at separating targets from iron than most of the best detectors out there.
Just let the product speak for itself.

Yeah, I didn't see that earlier.
If the manufacturor has any brains at all, they will have to take care of it or suffer the consequeces.

Nothing has changed.
The distributor just decided to stop selling the Blisstools to the public now that the dealers have them.
The service is still there. Shipments are coming in as usual. You just have to go through a dealer now, that's all.
It lets the distributor focus on distribution. The same thing will happen with DeepTech.
I think Barry just worded in a confusing way so i

Good to know. Thanks for the replies.
I wasn't sure because I thought I heard Kieth say in one of his videos that it was just an audio boost, but in my first test runs, it seemed to give a big boost in depth.
I'm going to run Boost all the time then, unless conditions demand that I turn it off.
Shorter battery life is a small price to pay for performance.

Is the Boost feature on the Vista Gold just an audio boost or does it actually boost the power to increase depth and improve separation ability?
If Boost improves performance, what would be a reason for not using it? Bad ground? EMI?

Perfect timing. My Vista Gold came a few days ago.
I bought mine mostly for it's supposed superior separation abilities in the iron.
I'm hoping it gets some decent depth on certain types of targets as well.
Ultimately I'd like to know if I can expect it to perform in any way better than todays top machines.
It will be detecting colonial sites behind my Explorer SE and
