My 12" Quarter vanished.

Tried to find it last night. No go. Ground is bone dry. I'm thinking there is at least a 3" detection depth loss with my MX Sport in dry ground as opposed to very moist ground.

Maybe the tooth fairy took it.

Well.... I did lose a tooth last week.. hmmmmm

I experienced substantial depth loss in medium minus iron mineralized ground when dry (with E-Trac, CTX, Omega 8000, etc.)

You may loose depth when the ground is dry but you will find targets that you could not hear when wet because the iron is not as active when dry . sube

A bit under 3 weeks. I also poured water in the hole with the Quarter. The ground is bone dry now.

Those fresh buried targets can get lost quick...Only to return a year or so later..

Give it time..

What's the target sound like in all metal?

ground bal. and lock then go across the dug spot..See if the thresh drops out...Very common to do so...after soil disturbance in bad dirt especially the dug and backfilled holes can become quite problematic..If its hitting the coin in all metal and you cant tell if its dropping thresh turn sens back till the coin can't be heard then see what the soil is doing to the threshold..

The winters coming in here so the ground is holding more moisture, i can hit my big copper penny at 12" now , back a few months it was just a whisper.

A CZ probably got it.....
