Very little on the forums about Fisher's F22. Might be more a big box store seller?

Precisely! I predict that the Mojave is going to be a 'classic'.

"Areas to where you can use low setting should have an increase of a few inches in comparison to the high setting"

To me a few inches means three or more. If that statement from a Tesoro employee is not hyperbole or exaggeration, maybe the ground balance switch is controlling more than just positive/negative ground balance?...with the more negative ground balance being tied in to a higher gain circuitry than the positive ground balance side of the switch.
Re: New detector from Tesoro

I should have the machine here in a few days, looking forward to it. Super 7 coil was enough for me to just order it. My soil here in Colorado is pretty terrible so I'm interested also to see how this ground switch things works. I assume it's just a positive/negative switch hut could be wrong.

12 kHz + ED 180 + New 7" Thin Search Coil + GB Switch = 'Classic'. Maybe even more so than the Silver Sabre µMax, Silver µMax and Compadre.

I agree that it's going to be a big seller for Tesoro, because of it's price and just about anyone can use it without any experience. It looks good too!

"Areas to where you can use low setting should have an increase of a few inches in comparison to the high setting"

Tesoro's loose a lot of depth as the ground balance is moved closer to the high conductor side. You see this happen first hand when you crack the case to adjust the preset ground balance for your dirt and you have high mineral soil. Keith has shown this very thing with the Lobo Super Trac. This statement could be applied to any of them if they added this switch. So based upon that I highly doubt they have added a new ground balance circuit. Low setting is a negative balance, high setting is a positive balance. If your ground can handle the negative setting your in the clover. If not, well....same old same old.

Think you nailed that right on Mike.----For my ground & where I hunt--I'm more intrigued with that new 7" coil than anything else (to use that coil on my Bandito 2 micromax).-----Howeversmiling smiley at $251 for the whole set up versus $99 just for the coil--kind of a "no brainer" on a purchase!

Like I said, it'll be a good-un!
But, what I'd really like to see is a New Top of the Line 'flagship' model, the "Sonora"

(wish based solely on their use of a desert to name their new product)
Not many deserts in the USA
Mojave
Sonora
...........and the Chihuahua!!!!! :~)

At only $250 Bucks, it will pay for it's self in clad & Jewelry finds in no time.
Re: New detector from Tesoro

Mike, appreciate the explanation and I defer to your extensive knowledge. To be as functional as possible with only two presets, neither GB setting could be too extreme to the pos or neg so I couldn't imagine it could make a 3+ inch difference.

Great to see the fine folks at Tesoro coming out with new product.

Sorry Mike, I just couldn't bring myself to put this all in one paragraph.smileys with beer

I'll definitely be trying one when I can get one. My distributor botched the release.

I hope you all don't have a Garrett Propointer if so it will go nuts with cross talk. I had a Sidewinder that used the same 12 kHz frequency and it was a little bit aggravating to the ears.
Re: New detector from Tesoro
February 10, 2017 01:41AM
I don't ever recall my 12 kHz Compadre having any issues with my Garrett Pro Pointer. I'll check it again the first chance I get.

Re: New detector from Tesoro
February 10, 2017 02:22AM
The newer Propointer AT aka Carrot is 11.5 KHz so I guess Garrett got enough complaints from users using 12 kHz frequency machines. But they may have off set the frequency slightly on the Compadre to help with the cross talk. When the Sidewinder was introduced the Propointer wasn't around.
Re: New detector from Tesoro

I don't have any issues with my Compadres while using propointers

Can't wait to hear your thoughts. Will be interesting to see of the GB switch is tied to the actual GB or just a frequency shift which could open the doors for future mods. smiling smiley
Re: New detector from Tesoro

I just got it and I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It can pick coins out of nails with great ease and has plenty of depth. The Mojave had no problem getting 2 inches of airspace about a 6 inch buried silver dime in my test garden. It's one amazing detector. The Tesoro Mojave will go down as a 'Classic'. I can't wait to get out and do some swinging with it.

It's already "a classic" and you haven't even had it on a hunt yet!smiling smiley (I'm kiddin ya Gerald)----------Seriously--I love your enthusiasm & you may well be right!-----Keep us informed on its performance--eager to hear your report.---------------Del

Gerald how would you say it compares to the Compadre at hitting on low conductors. I enjoy hunting for jewelry and the Compadre hits on small link chain/ neccklaces, would you say that the Mojave disc. goes as low as the Compadre or is the minimun setting set to disc. out iron and a bit more.

Steve it's a ED180. I haven't done any small chain or small gold jewelry testing with it yet. The only thing that I tested was its depth and how well it preformed at finding a coin surrounded by nails. Excellent results!

Thanks Gerald, will be looking forward to reading more of your thoughts as you get more time on the Mojave. I am holding out for a bit longer to see if Tesoro has another machine coming out, if not I just might try the Mojave.
Re: New detector from Tesoro

It's super hot and deep on gold rings. Audio tone is the same as the Compadre except there is some audio tone modulation, but not a lot. It amazes me how it can pick out a coin surrounded by nails. It's a winner. Just wait until the reports start coming in and you'll see how good it really is.

Gerald-----Couple of questions: Does it pass Montes nail board test with that 7" coil?----also----does the disc knock out clad dimes when turned up? Just curious, I think the Outlaw did.-----Wouldn't of course be running disc anywhere near that high but as I said--I was just curious.
Re: New detector from Tesoro

Yes it passes Monte's nail board test. It won't discriminate out a dime.

Sometime back there was scuddle about tesoro comming out with 2 new detectors,I have an idea they will have a new one out this year (summer) maybe. If they would just have a high end one with H.O.T. and maybe notch and or ID on it with tones would be a killer. shortribs
