Can someone point out what advantage(s) the concentric would bring? I am at a loss to figure out what, if any, it would. Maybe a very large 12-15 inch concentric coil in a target scarce area would be a big advantage.

What are the advantages to this coil not for bad dirt has a smaller detecting field the deeper it goes....I use to have this type of coil on my whites years and years ago

Better pinpointing and better discrimination. Concentrics do a much better job at eliminating bottle caps. I only wish it was about 9" diameter.

"Congratulations once again to a very progressive company. My 'ex boss at Minelab used say, 'Onward and upward!' Exactly what NokMak are doing!

When you bring a 'New' coil into a well used site it will make new finds and that is inevitable.
It's all in the windings. Different concentric windings have different amounts of 'winds' for both inner and outer windings.
Different manufacturers may have differing wind amounts per winding for the same diameter coil.

I'm currently testing a Tesoro Mojave with a 7" concentric coil.
And I've made finds where I have worked out the area and I put that down to 'a fresh coil design with unknown number of windings'
It's V like detection gets in and is less effected by seeing other targets that might be just outside its conical V point, thereby getting better hits on targets that may have produced 'confused audio reports' with another detector and subsequently left behind thinking 'that's gotta be junk?'

I'll be very interested to hear user reports on if they might note an increased detection of 'on edge' coins which is what has happened during my testing of the Mojave!'

Food for thought thanks des!

This is interesting news, and slightly surprising.

Based on some reverse-engineering work, it seems the R2 [ and likely the Impact too] uses a centre-tapped transmit coil, much like the Teknetics T2. Making CC coils in this configuration is not so easy (ie. expensive), and is the reason there are no CC's for the T2.

So kudos to Makro/Nokta for creating these coils.

Will be interesting to read about how this coil works. I do like the DD coil but if anyone can make a top end CC coil Marko/Nokta can...I'm starting to use the mid-size coil I thin its a 5X9...:Love it very deep and fast.

Perfect size, I'll take one

DeepTech Vista X with 3 search coils.
Works for me

Agree, perfect

hey Des, but also coverage will pale compared to the DD, good for 'known good' small areas I guess and less mineralized ground. personally I'd rather cover more ground and just dig the 'iffy' audio.....cheers
