I don't know which one is worse.....
March 13, 2018 10:09AM
All these gazillion posts on the Equinox or the president post on here a while back. I am going to take a break from here for a while until the newness wears off of the Equinox. I hope all of you find gold and silver on your next hunt with the Equinox or whatever machine your using. In the meantime I will be over on Findmall talking about the T2+ or Minelab Explorer SE that I use. Later Guys and keep a digging!

You know since this forum's beginning, percentage wise overall, Minelab threads and post definitely don't lead the pack here.
Wonder why??

Enter Equinox.

To even be using the term Equinox in the same thread as Xp Deus, Etrac, and CTX should mean some thing, right?

Not to mention the original Equinox thread has the most views I think of any thread ever here.
Equinox sales will burst all kinds of records.
It is popular.

I am surprised not more excitement, folks being estatic being the case with Equinox.

Passion has been talked about on this forum when talking about detecting.
Well, I think Equinox should really add to this passion.
Equinox stands alone where it fits in as far as the entire metal detecting industry.
This is HUGE IMO.
A manufacturer has been listening to us after all and brought the detecting community one FINE detector model series for the price paid.

I wish folks all the luck in the world detecting no matter what model they use. I still have other model detectors and I will use them. Will talk about these other detectors too.

I think it's partially due to a disproportionate number of relic and old coin field hunters here. What has worked for me tends to be the same units relic guys use so I hang out here more than other forums.

Head scratcher, this one. The post I am replying to. Seems some folks would rather complain than act. Tired of Nox talk? 2-part solution: (1) Don't read it. (2) Instead of pissing and moaning, post something about your T2+ (or in 10 or 15 years, the T2++++++++++) or your Explorer SE or maybe about detecting in general. Start your own discussion (novel idea). End of rant (not really a rant, just a suggestion).

Most of us read other forums also. It has all blended together into a blurry freaking mess. Find someone that you respect and read their opinion on the Nox. The rest is BS. I hate the double posting on multiple forums. If I want to read it I know the 5 forums to look on. And I don't need links to rumored Equinox detectors for sale.

Not to fret you guys. You all know as well I do that with the blazing speed of computer and electronics technology the Nox will soon be joining the ranks of all the other game changing detectors and all the hoopla will soon die down until the next one comes along. It's happened over and over again in my 45 years of relic hunting. For instance take my man Calabash and the Deus. I've watch his videos and read all his posts. Really enjoy them. With all his comparisons with other detectors and his great efforts in sharing how good the Deus is in comparison to other units, it is about to take a back seat to the Nox. The Deus will be old technology. Never thought I see that. But that's the way it goes In this hobby in these times.
Hope to get out this weekend with my old technology t2 and worry not about having the newest and bestest but enjoy the high tones and digging some holes. smileys with beer

Just another tool to add to the arsenal !!! Will the Deus take a back seat to the NOX ?? I don't know but they will compliment each other well from what I can tell.

BTW there was a time when those 8 to 20 yr old detectors you guys are using were new tech too I bet there were ole timers saying the same thing then too... To think only GREAT detectors were made back in the day is a error in my book. Are we to believe companies cant develop new and better machines. I bet some guys are using detectors made before the IPHONE hit the market and that's fine. What gets my goat is the guys throwing off on something they have not even used and writing it off as we seen it all before and its the same ole same ole. I got a feeling some guys will be eating crow for a long time to come with this machine. I like my crow warm myself... just my 2 cents for what its worth.

To be honest if I was a Relic Hunter Or even a water Hunter would give one a try. But as far as Deep turf coin hunting that I mostly do, I don't see anything better at I.D. at deep than the Etrac or CZ-3D. And as far as a Lite weight type back pack Detector My Golden is fine for that also. So just not for My type hunting is all.

Seems I put you on defense Calabash. I certainly did not mean to do that. And personally, as an ole timer, I can say every detector I've owned through the years has been higher tech and a step above, in some aspect, than the last. As far as the Equinox goes, I'm pretty certain I'll end up with one. That is if something better doesn't come out before I get a chance to.

Which is worse? Both. I try and skip posts that don't interest me. Sometimes the TITLE on a post misleads me to having a look and I step in the doorway only to turn right back around and walk out.

What to do when there is a FLOOD of posts? Head to high ground I guess. Findmall has A LOT of equinox posts as well, but they have their own sub-forum to keep it contained. Meanwhile, I'll try and find worthwhile posts on the Equinox, Kruzer and whatever else becomes the latest interest.

As for Posts of interest, I'm still looking for Tom's take on these two new offerings, the Kruzer and Equinox, and how they're faring in his neck of the woods.

Just a little touchy been watching the back and forths over the Nox on the different forums....Its a good detector from what I can tell so far with good performance. For 899.00 its a great deal. The Deus has more tonal nuance though and it will take some time to see how that affects performance for relics...Bill long Wrote:

Well.... sorry 88junior, I'm less sympathetic than most. If you're not interested in obtaining the latest technology, ie an Equinox,,,, well that is understandable but some of us even while not immediately jumping on the Nox bandwagon are still interested in learning about the latest greatest.
If you're bored and I will admit, some of the redundant "1st time out gold with the Nox" is the same old song and dance we've seen with the Etrack, Deus and all of the other previous new and improved high techs that have come out..... maybe you might want to post something, start a new thread and you might be surprised how many of us jump in on it. I think even the NOX fan boys are bored stiff and would take the opportunity to talk about some general or generic detecting topics. Just be prepared they'll probably tell you how the NOX does it better.
