This hunt is exactly why I want the best performing detectors for iron on the market. This is where research , testing detectors ,and seeking permissions all come together. Confederate encampment....loads of iron.CONFEDERATE CAMP

Helluva site dude!
If I could dig. I would tempted to dig some bigger ferrous at that site. You never know. Could be a gold coin lurking there too.

Thanks guys,both of us used the Equinox 800 with stock coil...Both of us had a Deus with us too but power lines would have killed it so I never turned it on. The site needs a small coil ran thru the irony spots.

Glad to see some one digging these treasures vs. leaving them in the ground to rot away or destroyed by some construction of a sub-division, hi-rise etc. in the future. thumbs down

They're still in the ground and I think you have a good chance on a Rev War button find. The backings may have rotted off but the pewter or copper fronts could still make you smile. Dig a few for us to see....some are worth thousands....good luck!
