Hobo:

I think 5-6 hundred is the price at the present. Several months ago, they could be had a bit cheaper, but for some reason they are bringing a bit more now. I think 600 would be tops, and that would be for a good condition serial # 1021 unit. Non 1021's would probably go in the 450-525 range depending upon condition. Then you need to add to the price if you want Tom to calibrate/certify your detector.

CZ6a's are less and are a very good choice for beach/inland hunting if you don't want/need the enhance feature of the 3D that causes many older (1800's-early 1900's) coins to register as high tone instead of med tone. You also get the 4th "foil" tone on the 3D for finding smaller gold ladies rings (with stones!).

I am presently on the lookout for a nice CZ6a myself.

I would think 450 - 550 would be the range

I paid $700 for a brand new never used 1021 a few months ago. It's been sitting in a dealers store many years, a little ma and pop detector store. I saw it there when I purchased my f-75 four years ago, been eyeing it ever since. Finally broke down and bought it. He was asking $800. Glad I got it.

With all the top name detectors he has surrounding him, he only uses the cz6a for inland, as his go to, he swears by it. He also said its wearing out and if no one buys the 3d he would use it in place of.

That makes you wonder how many NIB 1021's are hidden away out there somewhere? I called a lot of the main dealers when I was looking for one and came up with nothing. I guess you have to some how find one like that at a small dealer some where.

Man!
I think I would have a hard time just taking it out of the box. I would just send it to Tom for validation and find out if it was one of the rare 12" dime test ones.

I am going to send the f-75 into FT, it needs the trigger switch replaced and the coil checked. When that gets back, the cz will go to Tom.
