I still run an FBS unit along with my Deus 2, I don't think my Explorer will ever be obsolete, as long as my shoulder and back hold out.

Whenever I trade on the forums I always ask for pics and I ask if there are any problems with the detector, when you don't do that you get what you get, it's his fault if he didn't get all the info about the detector, like you said most 20 year old detectors aren't going to be in perfect condition. Trading and buying on the forums is a gamble unless you know who you are dealin

Yeah I thought that was the case, the old Whites video I watched was a little unclear about any methods to use if in dense iron, the just touted how fast the tracking was.

I was watching an old Whites instruction video on youtube and the guys said to run the ground tracking in relic mode, I always thought you should lock the ground balance when you are in a relic hunting situation because of all the dense iron that is usually in the ground, I thought the the detector would have a hard time giving you a proper ground reading because of the iron, Am I wrong? Maybe so

The sheathing on the coil cables is pretty much toast but both coils work as they should, I don't know if anybody knows how to fix them but I just used them a

Great deep detector the Minelab Explorer is, give yourself some time to learn what it is telling you and you will do well. It can be frustrating at first but with perseverance you will end up loving it, if your shoulder and back can take it.

Well I think I will just keep the Legend in my stable of detectors for now, it is quite good and you really can't have too many detectors, despite what my wife says.

It's hard to sell detectors now because of the new inexpensive high preforming machines hitting the market now, they have really hurt the used detector market I believe, I think they have hurt the new high end detector sales because they have many of the same features as the expensive machines have. I have seen really good deals on used detectors on the forums that have just sat there. Plus

My experience with the Legend so far has been pretty good, I am of the opinion that it can see coins on edge better than most detectors I have used, I have been finding coins in places that have been absolutely hammered by a load of different detectors and the coins I found with the Legend were not very deep at all, they should have been seen by the other detectors but they weren't, the Leg

It's better in the nails than a lot of the newer detectors out there, it don't false very much on iron plus depending on where you set the disc it sees all the non ferrous stuff, I pull little bits of foil and a lot of those 22 shell casings out of the nails all the time.

When there is a strong competition between 2 great metal detector companies the winners are the people who use the machines, when they keep trying to top each other we get great detectors at reasonable prices. Capitalism at its finest.

I don't use USPS unless I absolutely have to, I use U.P.S., they are cheaper in most cases and they are faster, I have sent packages from here in western PA down to the Carolina's and they get there in 2 to 3 days. You can pay for the shipping cost on their web site and print the labels on your printer and just find out where the drop offs are located in your town, or you can schedule t

I don't think you could go wrong with any of those detectors, I think it just comes down to personal preferences anymore, there isn't an awful lot of performance difference between the new releases. That's my take on it.

I believe XP uses a silencer setting on their single frequency detectors to help deal with iron infestation, it is comparable to iron bias is it not?
