I would have been 9 or 10 years old when I first saw my first clad coin. It was a quarter I got in change at the corner grocery store. I was with a buddy of mine who was also a coin collector and what sticks in my brain was how cool we thought it looked.

Agree with you Tom and I would expand it to say all forms of video, especially YouTube, have brought in beaucoup hordes of newbies. Lack of literacy is no longer a barrier to entry like it was in earlier decades.

Yes, all 4 Equinox models in Multi run 5,10,15,20 and 40 kHz. simultaneously. What frequencies get emphasized more depends on the mode being used.

Silver stacking refers to buying silver bullion (coins, bars, rounds, etc) over time for investment purposes. I assume the term "stacking" comes from what you do when you stack coins on top of each other.

Got an email from Apmex this morning. They are selling 90% Junk Silver for $2.99 per oz. over face. Roosevelt/Mercury dime rolls (figure on mostly Rosies) or their choice of 10, 25 or 50 cent rolls or bags.
That's the best premium I've seen since pre-COVID, so I thought I'd mention it for any stackers here who have been sitting out for the last three plus years because of the ri

Markg, I have the same experience as you with the Nox. The multi freq ID's way better than single.
What Pimento says makes sense to me. Minelab put their R&D eggs into the multi basket and added single as an afterthought secondary feature...a feature that unfortunately is too often needed to combat EMI issues that reduce multi to only being usable at a sensitivity level below the al

The way it was referenced on another forum was as a rebuttal to someone who claimed that tracking causing targets to track out on repeat sweeps was an "urban myth"

Adam's numbers show a significant depth increase, using an equal sensitivity setting, in 5 tone and all tones with the 700 compared to the 600. Assuming his numbers are accurate, that's more than just depth improvement from EMI mitigation.

My impression from what Tom had said before was that depth improvement with the 700/900 was the result of slightly improved emi mitigation. Adam's numbers suggest there's a good bit more going on under the hood to affect depth.

For someone looking for a very good price and detector this is it. Doesn't have the gold mode like the 800 and a few less settings, but has just as much punch.
You can probably get one used on eBay for around this price but then add on tax which depending on your state will be a bit more or less than another 10% plus shipping charges and you'll be paying at least $50 more. Plus Stev

A bargain for sure...I know Tom says the process takes several hours and when you get it back it's as good as that particular unit can be.

Like Del says, look for one that has been certified by Tom at around 12" give or take a few tenths of an inch. There wii be one of Tom's stickers on the units he tunes. Expect to pay a good bit more for a deep Tom tuned one.
If you get one that Tom has not certified, it's a crapshoot. Your best odds for a good one that hasn't been Tom tuned would be a Los Banos manufactured

Steve, I probably don't need to mention this to someone experienced as you, but make sure you get a proper one. Big differences between good and bad units with the cz-3d.

So is the wm-08 still compatible with the Nox 900/700? If so, does it still come with the 900 like it did with the 800? Or not come with the 700 like it didn't with the 600?

But if, God forbid, the poop does hit the fan and the banking system along with the dollar collapses there will still be a need for a valid currency. History points to that currency being gold and silver.

I remember after the initial buzz and shortages ended you could periodically find clean lightly used Mojaves in the 150-160 range. Would have been a great investment! Who knew?

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, I haven't had any problems with the Nox in over three and a half years. I think it helped my odds that I don't use it in the water or sand except for three hunts earlier this year on vacation at Gulf Shores. I ran into a couple ladies there who were dedicated beach hunters, one was on her second Nox, the other on her third.

Oops, my mistake. I said JM Bullion when I should have said SD Bullion, I get those two entities confused. SD Bullion is a good bit cheaper that JM Bullion, they are running a cyber week sale now where $10 face or more of their denomination choice 90% silver is $7.99 over face value and free shipping.

Sube the juice is a lot higher buying $1.00 face value than $5.00 or more. Your basic point about the premium over spot is solid...it's ridiculously high and keeps going up!

Sube that 90% was selling (their choice of denomination) for $9 over spot at Apmex for a 1 day sale. It was $8 over spot at JM bullion. You're right about the current price. After the one day sale it was back up an additional $3 or so per oz. So around $11-12 per oz. over spot now.

That makes sense. If 90% junk silver sells for more than other forms of silver bullion it would, by definition, have numismatic value.
But if the cocca does hit the fan at some point in the future and precious metals again become the coin of the realm, it seems logical that 90% coins would have a major liquidity advantage over other forms of bullion silver because of being universally recogniz
