Being in the package delivery business...I can tell you stories of all "3" of the big delivery companies. They all have been accused of poor service, crushed & lost parcels. Delivering millions & millions of parcels with none going missing would be totally remarkable. They usually show up some where...even if it is late. Regarding crushed packages......most are due to poor pack

They probably would never get to detect those sites if it weren't for the TVcameras & money.

Yep...I have a nephew that is moving out of a older house in our area & I asked permission to detect the 30 days remaining before he leaves. Hmm, you may know there would be 5" snow on the ground the 1st time we get out there.
Here's what conditions we were facing.....
I like scrubbing the coil along the ground which was difficult the 1st visit.
However, if it's an o

I have a similar fairgrounds I've been detecting for almost 20 years. It was in operation from 1856 to 1964. I've found over 2000 coins there with 95% of them keepers. Lately it's been getting tougher & tougher to find coins there. The site use to have 30 head of cattle running around on it making it easy to detect. The cattle was removed a few years ago & the grass is a lo

You are correct. It is the Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge that links Ky with Ohio.

Yes my friends, I've lurked some recently, but, it's been a while since I've posted here.
Here are a few pics of some recent finds I've added to my scrapbook:
Not much exciting to see in the above pic. It's miscellaneous targets found in various places around my hometown in recent months.
Recently...I had a friend call me wanting me to find a earring she

Try checking out those magnets that roofers use. They look like those hand push lawnmowers from the 50's.
They are about 2' wide & on wheels....

Those magnets are pretty small, only about 5" long.
They may have a 250 lb pull, but that's if it is squarely on a clean surface.
As a side note...if you did stick on a 250 lb object, does the operator have enough strength to pull the object out?
Most things you'll attract will be in the water & won't have that clean of surface.
If you are wanting to use it in wel

Suppose you took up the offer. Would you dig any targets deeper than 3-4" ??
After all, digging deeper targets would mean more work, especially if the ground is dry & hard during the summer months.
If I wanted to do that, I'd just go to my job.
Detecting under these circumstances & going to my real job wouldn't be any different.
Both would be boring very quickly

Why not put on a neat little "seminar/ demostration" of how to use a detector.
I've done this before & it usually amazes those that isn't familiar with detectors.
You'll amaze them & they will be entertained.
That will open a lot of doors quickly.
Good luck..............see ya yardhunter

I'm very impressed with the CZ3D the Nasa Tom helped develop. Before I go any further......this CZ is not a 1021,1121 or a Tom upgraded unit. I use to have a CZ5 & sold it very quickly after realizing the IH's, & other early American small silver came in on mid-tones. Not this baby...... Also, I take pretty good pride & pinpointing targets to avoid lot's of useless digg

I've offered to mow yards for detectng rights with much success.
Offering $$, it must have a great history to go for that.
However.....I would still offer to mow it.

It hangs on the wall now...........
It was heavy & my arm felt like it going to fall off at times swinging it, however,
I found 1000's of coins & other goodies with this rascal (White's 6DB ) in the early 1980's................see ya yardhunter

Wireless is just an expensive luxury.
In a few years all mid range & above detectors will be wireless & the prices will drop.
I've used headphones for 30+ years & have 1000's of coins & other targets to show for my efforts.
I'm with another poster, just put the cord behind my back & keep moving on.............see ya yardhunter
