BTW, there's a similar document for the Platypus/Equinox, since it also has a bluetooth radio transmitter for the headphones.
You can look up any FCC ID at
It is always surprising how much proprietary corporate info they fill out for that certification, like the project names.
...And before someone with sharp eyes points out the one reference to power output in watts on page 11, note

TNS,
Yes indeed, thanks for that reminder. I had completely forgotten.
And just to clarify...technically the FCC proper, typically doesn't like to test anything.
They require you to first pay to have the compliance testing done at a certified lab, such as Compliance Testing LLC.
(Then send in the completed request packet.)
And if you really want to bore yourself with technical detai

Tom_in_CA,
That's pretty much my experience as well.
I think of them like those specialty tools you may only need a few times in your entire life....but you can't do the job without.

The other advantage I've seen with the Eneloops is that they maintain their capacity (and charge) if not used for an extended period of time.
I've got other, cheaper rechargeables that have lost 50% (or more) of their capacity from just sitting.
Some old guy once told me, "You may not always get what you pay for, but you'll never get what you don't pay for."

Don't know about that code.
There is another old sequence where you subtract the date code from 1,000,000 to get the full date in MM/DD/YY format, but others will have to chime in with info about the letter codes ...
You might try a phone call. I don't know if anyone is answering the phone at White's, but they were always really good about giving out that mfg date info.

Reg was a friend of mine, and lived just a few miles south of me.
He was constantly making mods to the TDI platform, and re-engineering/refining the circuitry .... almost always while in some level of pain.
A couple of his mods ended up in the current TDI production models.
We ended up with some similar exotic vintage detectors, and he could talk metal detectors for hours on end.

Ghounds link is the correct address to download the latest updater.
However, here is a direct link to the windows download .... click on this:
If that direct link doesn't work for you, you've got some kind of computer and/or internet problem.

I was just trying to help you understand why we do it the way we do.
Just because "you" don't understand it does not make it wrong!

Why, yes it is, Robert.
Here's a link to the upgrade brochure: (basically, just stability enhancements and the addition of 4kHz to the single freq selection)

The Equinox can also pick a single frequency.

Because there is no such thing as a standard gold ring.
There is such a thing as a standard nickel. (...a

I was.
I waited to have someone else asked to have it shipped to them to try out, but since I was fairly 'late in the game' to test it, I guess by then the interest / 'new' had worn off.
I had also contacted Macro to have them replace a bad coil to

Not just school wifi .... many retail businesses offer free wifi.
Then everyone actually using the wifi.

About a week or so ago, before city shut down outside activities, I managed to get out for about an hour and a half to dig deep iffies for testing...
Only dug about 6 or 7 deep holes, but the last one was a really nice 1910 Barber dime at 9".
What I was noticing, was that with all the businesses shut down (for COVID-19) around the park I was hunting, the EMI was almost non-existent!

Brian,
I was/am a math major, and your logic is slightly off....but it's off in your favor.
You can only determine the death rate of total CLOSED cases that have concluded outcomes....the patient either recovered or died.
IOW you can't count the active cases....sick ones, since they can still go either way.
That 'closed cases' number is extremely high. It's rough

On DetectorPro pinpointers, the usual suspect for sudden loss of depth (as on most pinpointers) is the coil/probe.
There is a relatively fragile ferrite core on some (most) units that can be cracked or broken from abuse like dropping on a hard surface and/or whacking targets to remove crud.
(Quick tip: Don't whack things with your pinpointer....it will last longer if you don't.)

It might work great in the proper doses, but you can't just buy something and chug it down....hoping for the best.
It reminds me of all the guys who take too much silver, and permanently turn their skin blue for life!
Just because a little of something might be good for you, it doesn't follow that a massive dose must be great for you...
(I'm thinking Darwin Awards here.)

Aaron,
Nah, I'm more of a big coil guy, myself....that 12" round sounds perfect.
Over the decades, I've really tried to like the smaller coils, but my good finds rate usually goes in the toilet whenever I use them.
In my ground, a round coil somewhere in the 11" to 13" seems to work the best.
Then again, I'm usually only hunting for the deepest old silver/go

That's an extremely common shape for a latch from that period.
