Lots of informative information, definitely a hot thread to follow.
On a previous subject of premiums, we probably won't be seeing premiums go lower, for a while at least. Wouldn't surprise me to see them go much higher, even if silver price drops before the big upswing which I still believe will go back down again.
I didn't catch this until last week, searching the web and

Tom, That's terrific those two stores accept silver coins for trade, bread and milk two important stable items. My hats off to them, hope they continue accepting silver and other stores follow.
After reading your post, was curious what a silver dime are going for. A precious metal bullion dealer I recently purchased silver 1oz premium bullion from, just strolled through the site and fo

Absolutely possum, Central banks globally are stockpiling on gold as never seen in decades. Eventually, Precious metals will go up and can still be a while. Plus, Gold and silver can still swing down this year, even though we are experiencing recent forward movement but that's my take can be wrong.
Definitely agree with you, per your words (We are headed into stormy waters, the likes we

I think we may experience several ups and down swing's for a while, hope not it'll be nice to get consistent positive movement again.
Hang onto Silver and Gold, Gold and Silver ratio is currently at low eighties.

Stock Market is not acting like it used too, everything is upside down backwards. Seeing so much side to side swing's, probably last a decade or two.
Gold and silver, especially silver should take off. When,

Maybe let Keith borrow the unit for a spell, this way we can continue to hear future Deus 2 adventures from your side of Fla beaches.
Just an idea,

Take your time Tom getting adjusted with the Deus, We have patience enjoy the learning curve.
With my original Deus 1, coil with solid light is full charge when using charge clip, probably same with Deus 2.
If possible, definitely secure the controller. One of my friends lost his when we hiked out of a relic site up in gold country, good habit to start off having it secured.
Enjoy

Great test Rick!
Appreciate you taking the time and effort to share these results, Thank you!
When I ran my Deus, Actually still have the original model and preferred Prospecting Gold mode in areas with black sand such as rivers and lakes.
Now in a Park, Park settings were not so agressive, even back then the original Deus was a killer on tiny low conductive.

Your a good man El, both you and Rose are very fortunate to have each other.
Glad to hear Rose is doing much better, Rose definitely is a trooper last time I seen her she was still working.
Give my best to Rose, and thank you for the kind words. It is tough, hope to see both you and Rose sometime in the fall.
Hang in there buddy!

El,
I'll bring the MDT 8000 with 12" coil next time we meet, Currently best relic detector in the stable.
Punches deep in hot soil, should do well up in your area.
See you then!

Hello David,
A local friend picked up the Deus 2, it opened up an old park he's scored several silvers and a gold nugget from an old hunted out park.
Another good friend is doing well on West coast ocean with his Deus 2, i would get one but still have my original Deus.
Hope all is well on your side of the woods, take care buddy!

I was a big ATX fan for fresh water and park hunting, loved the smooth stability with DD coil but hated constantly using iron check feature to check conductivity (ferrous or non-ferrous).
Spoiled with the GPX 5000 DD ferrous feature for relic hunting, no need to constantly check target was discriminated automatically.
This new Garrett Axiom looks great, I'm tempted to get one but the a

Hello Tom,
Tom Slick is correct, the newer HF coils are solid white, both elliptical and standard 9" coils. Like Tom Slick, I have both HF coils and prefer the round HF 9" coil over the elliptical. The HF 9" coil is deeper, yet from my experiences just as good unmasker in thick iron as the elliptical.

Congratulations Tom,
Deus is probably the best detector for iron ridden sites, even better when using a HF coil.
If you're serious with getting a Deus, get the 9" HF coil and bump up freq higher than 17.6 based from your settings when defecting in areas laced with iron. You won't need any other deus coils, we hunt the same type of sites same soil conditions and bas

Thanks Tom and Timmy,
Water hunting in harsh black sand can be challenging, I've seen water hunters pass up targets ID'ing as iron not realizing the target conductivity dropped into iron range due to black sand mineralization.
Timmy, try not to focus on Target ID when hunting under harsh fresh water black sand mineralization. You may have to shift into a dig all mindset, many of

Most fresh water hunters don't take into consideration black sand will lower target ID, only a few understand this.
That's why I don't worry about target ID, you can't cherry pick gold jewelry targets defecting in fresh water black sand. The deeper the target, the lower it'll ID.
I do use use the 9" HF coil for fresh water, don't worry about the HF coil

Congratulations Coinsprader on the bucket lister, half cent coins are a rare find. You mentioned in the video, the ground was turned putting deeper coins near the surface. That's great! That hunted out park should keep on giving.
Half cent are a tough find, Especially out west. I've only seen one found here in California and that was from a park like yours not too deep, a friend dug

Many good informative replies Michael,
I've tried all the Explorer series models, all are good for deep silver from parks and old school grounds. Ended up with an Explorer SE, and still have a couple of BBS.
You're welcome to borrow the SE, use it for a year. That's about the length of the learning curve with an average detectorist. I suggest hunting Cutter Park, couple of

Thanks Denny,
In addition to kHz, should have mentioned two more settings an MDT user needs to leave alone when hunting parks for deep coins.
Because audio modulation isn’t there with MDT, once they get aquatinted with settings for park turf coins. Try to not make sens/threshold or kHz adjustments while hunting. Any big changes will greatly effect audio modulation so now that audio inf

Hello Denny,
Here’s something I use while Park hunting for deep older coins, maybe other MDT users hitting an old park will benefit from this as well. You’re probably already figured this out, but I’ll still add below maybe others will benefit from this.
Before I started using the MDT for deep park/turf coins, tested the MDT at a test bed of buried coins at different depths at an o

Good job Denny,
Getting an old coin from that park is incredible, a dateless buffalo nickel is still a sight for sore eyes. I would call this part hunt with the MDT a success, I think you and I are the only ones using am MDT for park turf.
Congratulations! You earned that old buffalo for sure!
