I have just relooked at the transmitting frequencies on both my ETrac and CTX3030. Both showed that NOISE CANCEL #1 is the lower frequency and NOISE CANCEL #11 is the higher frequency. If my previous post is different it is wrong and I apologize.

Minelab's FBS noise cancellation is better described as noise avoidance. It slightly shifts the transmitted and receive frequencies away from an undesired noise source.

Rather than embedding the WM10 module this is what I did with my modified David Clark headset. When needed I can replace the WM10 with a coiled wire to the detector.
This type of David Clark headset is being used in active combat as we speak. Got the headset cheap from a surplus store. They were nasty when I got them but cleaned up real nice and will last a lifetime.

You guys are missing the point. Both Deus and Minelab realize that processing the received target signal AT THE COIL significantly improves target sensitivity and resolution. The Deus sends out the information from the coil to the control head wirelessly while the CTX3030 essentially uses its cable to send power and receive data from the coil. Ever since I've owned the CTX I've been wanting to have GeoHunt track, Find and Way Point data available from XChange2 formatted for use with Google Earth rather than Google Maps. In our area we are lucky to have aerial photographs all the way back to 1937 plus there are Beers Maps which were published in 1868, all on the internet! When I research an area I'd like to hunt I will download and print pictures of selected years and assemble them in a folder. If I find other information about the history of the area or names of previous owners I'll include it. When

My favorite coin find aint pretty but it's the oldest. A 1721 George I half-penny. I found it nearby a colonial water driven mill site. Much later the mill was converted to steam driven. Of all the half-pennies I have found this one is the least toasted. I think the reason for its better condition is that it was in a non agricultural area where no fertilizer ate on it.

Not using the supplied spacers between the coil and the shaft end will put undue inward stress on the coil's ears when tightening the nylon bolt.

Sharpening up the waveform would also help in the generation of harmonics. The ferrous-coin and target trace, in my opinion, are there because they are cool and can be done with the much faster processor. FBS(1) machines are probably not fast enough to do it.

I just couldn't wait any longer so I looped a wire around the CTX's coil and hooked it up to my O'scope. What I saw was that the FBS2 transmitted signal was identical (but more sharply squared) to FBS(1)! The FBS2 transmitted frequency was variable with Noise Cancel exactly like FBS(1).
I haven't pushed all the CTX's buttons yet to see if anything else changes the wave

I really like the Dakota 20. It does everything I need and more. The interface with Google Earth is excellent. I make a folder in GE for each area and store each track and find location in it. That Google Earth pic above is kind of decieving. Most of the open areas are/were impenetrable sticker patches. Hopefully they will get a bush-hog in there.

Google Earth is an excellent place to store tracks and finds locations. I use my Garmin Dakota 20 GPS to record all my tracks and significant finds and easily download them to GE. Hopefully I can discern patterns where coins are lost and return to unhunted sections of areas of interest.The data I store is only accessable to me.
